BLDC ceiling fan repair

In this video, I will repair a new technology BLDC ceiling fan. Atomberg Gorila, efficio model, which was purchased on 2017. This type of electronic control ceiling fan has many advantages over normal induction fan. Try to use this type of fan. If you are using, notice the difference. It has very less to failure history because it has so many protections and very good built quality. But some times fails due to some reason because it is electronic control device made with so many components, any component fail device will not work, I am using this type of fan more than 6 nos. Since 2017 and no problem found. But this time found a problem in one fan and will show how to repair this.

You are amazing brother. I happen to have the same motor with similar problem(not running, no remote indicator)..I got the replacement motor as it was still under warranty. But, they didn't take the old motor..so I was wondering if something can be done with this. Is there anyway I can connect to you? There were 2 SMD capacitors which you removed but your replaced only one with 10MFD Electrolytic capacitor. The capacitor which was removed later was not replaced. Is it not required?

Mr. Sharma, both the capacitors were connected in parallel. I do not know their values but as per the drawing of DRV 10983, need a 10mfd capacitor for safe working. So I replaced with that only in the place of two.

If DRV10983 found short, then simply you have to replace with a new circuit board. Replacing the DRV10983 will not work because it is software controlled. New software to be installed in both Microcontroller and DRV10983. Only OEM can do this. If you want, only the SMPS section of old circuit board can be used.

I have bought new Aromberg Efficio model, the fan is pausing in every 3 second while in Boost mode. Please suggest anything to do as it's Lockdown here. ( Regulator already bypassed )

Whether in other speed, fan is running ok? If problem is only with boost mode, there may be two possible reason. First, due to software problem. Second, maybe due to overload. If problem is with all speed, may due to software problem.

Do not buy bldc fans. I bought cromption fan from Amazon. It worked only 2 years and repair problem, whereas I bought Orient ordinary fan it is working still now for more than. 10 years without any problems

Input DC voltage is 24 Volt and inverted AC voltage and frequency is variable according to the fan speed. Output voltage amplitude goes maximum upto input voltage (24V).

ভাই, এটা মোটরের উপরে যে ক্যানোপিটা থাকে, সেটা নেমে এসে ফ্যানের বডিতে ঘষা খাওয়ার জন্য হতে পারে ৷ আমার বাড়িতে এ্যাটমবার্গের মোট ন' টা ফ্যান আছে ৷ চারটে এফিশিও+ , তিনটে রেণেসা+ আর দুটো রিমোটলেস, দড়ি টানা কন্ট্রোলের ওয়াল ফ্যান ৷ একটা এফিশিও+ ফ্যানের এই সমস্যাটা বার বার হচ্ছিলো বলে ক্যানোপিটার যেখানে ওটা এঁটে থাকে, সেখানে দু পাক সেলোটেপ এঁটে দিয়ে ক্যানোপিটা টাইট করে দিয়েছি ৷ অনেকদিন হয়ে গেছে নো প্রবলেম !

What converter you are saying that is also DC- DC converter. Output is DC, not AC. Approximately 230 - 300VDC. You can run BLDC fan without any problem.

It is very difficult to find out exact problem from here. But I can guess. May be rotor magnet getting loose from the ring. Check the magnets.

Why you connect Electrolyte capacitor with the replacement of non polar capacitor..? It should damage your device 100%.

The SMD capacitors were connected across 24V DC power input of motor driver DRV 10983. As per design of DRV 10983, across the input supply has only Electrolyte capacitor. So it will not damage the device. Across any DC voltage source you can connect Electrolyte capacitor without any problem. That fan is running smoothly without any problem since repair.

I can not confirm the exact problem but this type of problem generally comes due to the motor control parameters setting. May be exact parameter not set, minor modification needed.

You can not control speed of Atomberg fan with normal regulator. Do not use any type of regulator. Fan will not work properly. Speed control can be done only with remote control
