His idol for making manga was kubo. He also mentioned that no one can copy bleach becaise it has a whole different vibe to it. Another wholesome fact is that they are very good friends now. Gege even recommended kubo a new shampoo which kubo now uses frequently. Kubo told this in a QnA with his fans. Sharing shampoo,that's a true homie right there. From idol to best friends Kubo🤝Gege. Gotouge(demon slayer)talked with her editor about bleach multiple times while making demon slayer. They also went to eat together in restaurants. Currently gotouge and gege are most in touch with kubo Tabata(black clover) is so heavily influenced by bleach and loves it so much that when the return of bleach was announced,he drew kenpachi in kubo's own artstyle. It was hard to believe that drawing wasn't made by kubo,it was that perfect Horikoshi(my hero academia)was a fanboy of bleach in his school/college days. Very fair take. Bleach and Naruto essentially took 2 different paths for the same problem and that problem is powercreep. When the Naruto and a few main characters got too strong. The author decided to make the side cast many of which were fan favourites less relevant as they physical couldn't complete with the new big villains. People who value a show's side cast were left feeling truly disappointed In Bleach when Ichigo powered up to quickly in the soul society arc. The author decided to constantly boost different side characters from the soul society arc so they could keep up with Ichigo's insane growth and actually keep them relevant to the story. When he wasn't giving away boosts to side characters to keep them relevant he was nerfing Ichigo and justifying Ichigo's power fluctuations with his change in emotions and confidence. The inconsistent potrayal of power in Bleach also turned off a lot of readers. As they thought Bleach is a story where power honestly doesn't matter and everyone wins no matter the odds or how weak they were 2 weeks ago. Bleach kept it's characters relevant but at the cost of people calling it's potrayal of power inconsistent. Naruto tried to honour it's power potrayal but at the cost of losing many of it well loved side characters.

I have three theories why Bleach is the most influential out of the big 3 1. Bleach anime popularity in the 2000’s was bigger then One Piece n rivaled Naruto according to TV ratings in the West were as OP popularity peaked in 2018-2023 also Bleach has the coolest aesthetic especially the manga so it makes sense why kids were drawn to it. 2. Naruto n OP were insanely influenced by Dragon Ball most of their tropes came from Dragon ball and 85% of Shonen is already influenced by dragon ball so it gets stale were as Bleach went in a totally opposite direction with their MC in Ichigo and having the female Deuteronomist in Rukia they have no rivalry or bad blood just deep bond physically and mentally. That just seemed like a fresher and more advanced idea. 3. Bleach is more modernized we’re as Dragon ball, One Piece, n Naruto to place in ancient era Bleach is modern it’s story takes place in are world and is about hunting demons/ghost/spirits while keeping it still slice of life making the story more relateable. Highschool gets powers and joins a monster/demon hunting organization now look at JJK DS CSM etc that’s how their stories start.

@@luci4463 Bleach animation took a bit to start getting good in terms of pure artwork, but mind you the series did begin over 20 years ago and the manga artwork also progressively improved over that period of time. I'd say that Naruto artwork has simply been the most consistent, in that the improvements were smaller and done over a longer period of time. One Piece was the least consistent, with certain arcs being good but not particularly well animated, others being lazy garbage, and others still seeming like they sucked up the entire animation budget on their own. That said, Bleach did literally have 2-3 full filler seasons, but that was because Tite kept overworking himself to meet deadlines. Every time the anime caught up to the manga they would pump in another filler season.

I watched all the big 3 and am up to date on one piece and bleach and out of the three I’d have to say I think bleach was the most well made of all three. The power system makes more sense and isn’t half assed like Naruto and The whole multiple power systems isn’t messy and sometimes over looked like one piece. Don’t get me wrong I love all three Naruto just felt like it was a little harder to grasp characters power and some devil fruits feel way weaker than haki in general and the other way around. With bleach it’s usually well established by rank, race or if their spiritual pressure is visible on screen which is usually an indication that they will overpower the character that they’re fighting.

Not really though. As far as MC goes, he is probably the least popular tbh. That's only from my own experience but I showed pictures or talked about these 3 MC to several people who barely even know what anime and manga are and they mostly wrongly spell "Naruto" or tell me "the straw hat is the dude from One Piece" but they usually don't know about Bleach, much less that the MC is named Ichigo. He suffers from the fact that Bleach itself is the least popular out of the Big 3.

You also see it in (at least for the first two) the motivations for the protagonists. Bleach was unique in that Ichigo was literally just in it to help and protect people he cared about, and then gets sucked into doing more. Where as the other big 3 the protags were aiming to be the best of something, to prove themselves. JJK and DS are much more like bleach on this front. Though DS is a bit more like Ed and Al from FMA with both sibling pairs trying to return the younger specifically back to their original bodies/humanity

I don’t think there’s a single popular Shounen jump series or series in general that is directly inspired or alike to One Piece - Hunter X Hunter and DBZ fit the bill but they both came before so if anything Oda was inspired by Togashi and Toriyama. I think it’s because a grand adventure that utilises long-term storytelling to it’s advantage would be boring to many people today in the already convoluted, fast-paced, competitive world of anime and manga. Oda had the privilege of releasing One Piece at a time where there wasn’t much else being released and people had WAYYY longer attention spans. Tldr: One Piece hasn’t inspired Jack and any mangaka who tries to copy Oda today would fail.
