Soi fon has an insta-kill, Tosen makes your screen dark, Sajin and Renji have their huge bankais but can't make Shinji invert controls, I sense some sort of bias here.

It makes no sense for Shinji to invert the controls. Sakanade alters the enemies' perception through VISION, she does not control the enemy's movement.
