Urahara wasn't really doing fuck all. He was assessing enemy strength and abilities while Ichigo fought. He even said how Ichigo disrupted Jail's defense to allow a fatal blow. Implying he was studying the enemy for a weakness, which he found when he realized Jail can't utilize defense when he goes on offense.

You forget Uraharas greatest weapon is his intellect and ability to figure out enemies weaknesses. Even last time he fought agains aizen he had a plan in mind- and he knows well no to just go into fight unprepared. What would it help to fight with ichigo if the enemy just seals his powers away or attacks with an unknown ability that possibly injures him? Nothing. So he sits back, looks at the enemy/fight and finds a way to deal with them beause the chance to defeat the enemy with brains instead of muscles is higher. Look at Aizen.

She's not understanding Urahara at all. It makes me feel about her in this specific topic the same way Urahara makes her feel. Like girl Urahara was banned from soul society, he's making his own researches on higher level than the whole soul society itself and he's making it in the world of living. When he decided that he has to step up it means that he let Seireitei handle business as long as they're capable of doing so but if things are more than they can handle that's where he step up. He's basically fathering them even tho they're giving him the side eye. He's constantly working on helping but you don't see it. Via Ichigo for example. You need to rewatch the series once again with the knowledge you have now to understand who Urahara really is.

The village outside Seiretei is called Rukongai (Rukon district). There is a total of 320 district altogether (West/East/North/South Rukongai each has 80 districts). Uryu's grandfather is Soken Ishida. He is not the grandson of Yuha, and by context, at least not directly. When you think Urahara is doing nothing, he actually is working behind the scene. A lot of things. The scenes are just showing his laidback persona. Easily one of the most misunderstood character in the Bleach world obviously.

Im glad you said this cause bruh fr. I mean not only that (hes a scientist/engineer and battle strategist himself so he has to analyze the new enemy that appear) but he also could NOT get a clear shot on Quilge because he was constantly using blut vene due to how much Ichigo was overpowering him, he couldn't switch at all into his offensive quincy form. Had he not been in a constant state of blut vene he would have died long ago with ichigos slashes

They're acquainted sure, and quite possible that Mayuri is way older than Urahara based on some stuff we learned about kinda recently in the last year or so, but as far as intellect goes Urahara is a bit smarter and competent in his ways. To answer your guys question; Kubo clarified that Mayuri, Senjumaru, and other scientists a looooooooong time ago were a group or faction together and they got disbanded. Most of them I THINK got placed into the Maggots Nest. Something along those lines but I haven’t gone back to check the question and response so my memory is very foggy. As far as their ages is concerned it’s irrelevant because we don’t know how long Urahara and Yoruichi have been around compared to Mayuri it’s just something that rattles in my brain as a bleach nerd

Urahara isn’t disengaged, he’s just not a fighter. While yes he is strong he lacks fighting spirit, so he only steps on the battlefield when absolutely needed. He’s more of the person who helps behind the scenes than the person who takes center-stage.

I understand that constantly seeing him isolate himself from the battlefield builds this idea of him being disengaged, so I don’t blame you for thinking that. However, I think the main reason is because of his approach to situations and his personality. For Example: In the Soul Society arc, while he was exiled and shunned, he tried to hide his hogyoku from Aizen. This was because he was the only one who knew about Aizen’s plan. When it eventually got taken (Rukia being returned to the Sereitei) he trained Ichigo to try and get it back, as he could not go his self. In the Arrancar/Fake Karakura Town Arc, he was the one to open the gargantua for both Ichigo and the captains. Built the pillars that transported karakura town to the soul society and aided in the fight eventually sealing Aizen. In the Fake Agent/Xcution Arc, he was the one who made the sword to give Ichigo back his powers. (He also might’ve been the one to propose the plan but I don’t remember)

I've never seen an old man in anime as angry as Old Man Yama at that scene, the scream and then turning the guy into ash and then flying off to face Ywach. [Tidbits & Clarifications][Lotta Reading] - Your assesment of Urahara is spot-on and actually an intended point of his characterization. One who acts when he sees fit to uphold the norm. This is VERY important when you understand that Aizen/Urahara are seemingly takes on Friedrich Nietzsche's Übermensch. If you look up "Friedrich Nietzsche's The Last Man" you'll get a better understanding of what Urahara is as a character. - In Kluboutside we Learn that the Yhwach (The Quincy King) has the ability to see words as they were engraved in that individual's body. He engraves the letter based on the words embedded within their souls which grants them the ability known as "Schrifts". More interesting is that the power they have is based on something they experienced or lost during conflict or war. - As Nodt's ability is "F - The Fear" if his arrows hit you he can make you feel instinctual fear, that's why those shinigami were screaming in agony. Some fans confuse it with Byakuya just feeling normal fear but As Nodts Fear is unavoidable because it uses your actual instincts so as long as you're is living you can't negate his power. - If you pay close attention you'll notice Ichigo's Getsuga slowly turning from Primarily Black to Primarily White when trying to escape "Jail". (Bingo he also began using some of is Fullbring Energy) - Zanpaktou are a part of a Shinigami's soul, so dying with their Bankai stolen kinda means they haven't fully passed on, that's why Yama was looking for that Quincy. It's to be assumed that Yamamoto was looking and waiting for the one who killed Saskibe, that's why they state that he doesn't usually come to the front line, Yama is feeling petty and wants revenge, he's thinking with his emotions instead of logic. Fun Tidbit - All of the Captains that got their Bankai stolen are the Younger Captains, as in they became Captain's post "Turn Back the Pendulum", The other Captains are the reinstated Vizords, Unohana, Ukitake, and Jushiro...Those Last 3 are Captains are the ones whose Bankai we've never seen at this point, Kubo intentionally only stole Bankai we've seen. - Sidenote: In Kluboutside we learn that the Bankai is the Zanpaktous own ego made manifest, this is part of the reason as to why the Quincy stealing the Bankai doesn't affect Shikai. - Sidenote 2: The episodes end with Poems that give additional insight to the characters and upcoming episode. They also have important additional scenes sometimes that you shouldn't miss. - Sidenote 3: Urahara was getting intel while Ichigo was fighting. That is something he tends to do, he will use others to gather data to benefit their cause. - Sidenote 4: "Fullbring" much like being a Quincy is something that you are. Ichigo Is a Fullbringer it's a part of is power, Ginjo thought he took all of Ichigo's power but he didn't. Once Ichigo got his powers back it all returned (fullbring included). This is why he has the marks and bones on his new look. - To answer your question without spoiling. 1. Hisagi doesn't have Bankai 2. Ikkaku and Renji are the only Lieutenants as of now that have Bankai (Mashiro also has it)

Urahara doesn't need to do anything tbh. He only helps Ichigo, Ichigo's friends, and Yoruichi. The rest in Soul Society kicked him out off of speculation rather than clear evidence and he decided not to hang around them even if things may have gotten cleared up. So he really doesn't owe anyone anything. On top of that, Urahara doesn't need to join the fights with Ichigo most of the time because Ichigo is naturally stronger than majority of the people in Bleach just because of him being like an Arrancar/Espada with Fullbringer powers. Most people are just 1 race like Quincy, Soul Reaper, Hollow or Fullbringer. The only ones that were multiple like Ichigo were the Espadas since they're basically Hollow and Soul Reaper. Ichigo has the strongest Hollow, has a father that was a previous Captain and got Fullbringer powers unlocked by the previous Substitute Soul Reaper. He's strong enough. Urahara's job is to analyze people and understand their weaknesses like a scout which is why he is a Scientist first and Fighter second. Him being a scientist first is the reason why very dire situations get solved by him in the end when no one else has a solution. Get rid of him and the villains would've won many times over. On top of that, his Zanpakto isn't an offensive type like most others, so it's even less likely for him to fight straight up. The difference between Urahara and Mayuri is that Urahara is the type of person capable of analyzing situations waaaay faster than majority of people and then coming up with a solution in short time. Mayuri on the other hand is the type of person to be super unpredictable and have a bunch of random inventions created so that he could beat his opponent fast or save an ally so they can fight longer. People hate fighting Urahara because he will make you feel like you're being read on every single move in a chess game while Mayuri will do the most insane things to throw you off guard, then use his intelligence to either kill you or take you back for research that can be used to invent another crazy thing for the next villain. Notice how quickly Urahara understands the situation even before Mayuri and anyone else after just watching Ichigo fight only 1 Quincy. Mayuri is the apprentice of Senjumaru, not Urahara.

Ichigo going to soul society is less about him beating all the quincies, and more about him turning the tide of battle to stem the losses they're suffering. Think for a moment, the quincies believe they can steal all the bankai. Now if someone shows up and they can't steal it, on top of being the number one special threat listed by their leader, that will demoralize the enemy and reinvigorate the allies. Battle is as much about mental fortitude as it is about physical strength. Ichigo going back is meant to shake the mental fortitude of the enemies

No spoilers, but Mayuri's greatest achievement is something Kisuke has casually done multiple times over. In every way Kisuke is far more capable, and I doubt that gap could ever be closed. Keep in mind that Aizen said verbatim they were of equal power before he had fused with the Hogyoku.

Don't worry about keeping up you're doing fine. This is different from the original bleach in that the pacing is going to be much faster so they can get to the good stuff sooner. I think this adaptation is like 4-5 chapters per episode which is crazy

Ehh urahara isn't doing nothing. He's simply just not showing his hand before he needs to. After all, he's not a frontal assault type of guy and with blut vene in the way, he needs ichigo to do such a thing. After all, urahara literally does everything. Train ichigo, try to hide his hogyoku from aizen, aid the vizard, train ichigos companions, show the way to Los noches to rescue orihime, invent a new kido to seal aizen, and is busy analyzing the quincy. He literally does everything behind the scenes. He's simply just not trying to show his hand before it's too late.

With Urahara (f if that isn't the spelling) your points around 15:45 ish totally valid , however perhaps hes just letting Ichigo find his limits and get experience with the enemy in general. 1.) Ichigo should physically figure out what he's up against like ofc there's anime powers and everything but if we compare this to like say kickboxing and preparing for a fight , you'd want to spar with partners similar in build to prepare for the big fight ahead. 2.) If Urahara or anyone else who's clearly top of the class stepped in on Ichigo's fights to help end things when convenient it'd in a way slow down Ichigo's experience. Ichigo should constantly be pushing himself to become stronger and I think Urahara as his mentor from way back now I think understands and wants to allow Ichigo to fight on his own to develop more as a strong asset for team soul society. With the situation in soul society being as bad as it was it was justified means to step in and interrupt the fight Ichigo was in as they need to haul ass over to soul society for backup. At least that's how I interpreted the interaction and Urahara in general with Ichigo. Personally coming from only being caught up with the anime and snippets of manga past what's been animated but it feels like a classic mentor/student relationship. Urahara probably figured soul society could stand their ground pretty well on there own and didn't feel rushed maybe , but with tht call things changed.

TYBW is color matching the manga as they should have been. You seem to have forgotten all of Kisuke's past roles helping from the background pull the strings. Like moving all of Katakura town to SS during the Aizen battle is a single of countless examples. I'm not sure why the anime had the greenish glow there either, unless they chose green because of the blue bars of the jail to stand out more? You'll find out a lot of details so feel free to go over things you're unsure about.
