@@kendallandrews8691 not a chance, first of cal is coming bac, uk wont write the check for 33 mil and on top of that wont write a check for 50 million before his salary. even if he wasnt no way nate leaves a program hes built into a contender year in and year out and who to follow in the footsteps of cal. and once he retires becomes a footnote in the history of uk. i know im going to get crucified for this by some people but over the last 5 years Alabama is a better and more prestigious job then Kentucky is sorry. two sweet sixteens and a final four, uk cant even beat st peters and oakland. uk is in a downward spiral. auburn, arkansas (not this year) tenn are all better programs right now and have surpassed kentucky.

I've been watching since the Sanderson days and all the sweet 16 heartbreak 1982: Jordan and UNC 1985: tough draw 1986: tough draw 1987: Providence couldn't miss 1990: LOYOLA and Gathers 1991: Arkansas ughhhh 2004: eventual Champs Uconn 2021: couldn't make F/Ts 2023: SDSU and out muscled 2024: FINALLY

You're a young 'un. I started watching Alabama basketball games on public television in the early 70's when I was a teenager and C.M Newton was the coach. I was in school when Reggie King was there near the end of C.M.'s tenture and went to all the home games for 2-3 years in the early 80's when I lived in Birmingham after graduating. That was during the Hurt/Whatley/Johnson era at the start of Wimp Sanderson's tenure. After the mostly mediocre years of Hobbs, Gottfried, Grant and Johnson I had about given up on Alabama basketball being consistently relevant again or ever making a Final 4.

It's really amazing when you consider that Alabama only returned 3 players (Sears, Griffen, Pringle) and lost the top 3 assistant coaches from last year's team. It has really been an incredible job by Oats of finding some guys in the transfer portal who could play in his system (plus recruiting Stevenson and Dioubate) and coaching them up. I thought finishing in the middle of the SEC this season would be a good result.
