I started by washing my hair, getting rid of all my product build up, and then starting the process with a colour remover. This helped remove that first, super black layer of colour, that made the bleaching process easier. I then bleached it all with 20 volume developer, which got me to a level 7, super orange base. I also had massive banding at my roots, so I colour corrected that to match my ends, and finally went in with a muted, rosy dye that left me with a gorgeous, dusty rose colour!

I have almost the exact cut as you and I find that because it's so short it has had a lot less time to accumulate damage from heat, washings, weather, etc so it takes bleaching and the like much much better than long hair!

What is your opinion on the sprays that are supposed to bring out the curl in your hair? I’m finding the one I use leaves too much powdery film on my hair that hinders my brush from going smoothly through my hair…I’ve got a paddle brush …also my brush seems to get full of hair very quickly after brushing with it a few different times. I never brush my hair when it’s wet, so I know that’s not why it’s breaking off….I also have been using special shampoo and conditioner made just for me so there’s that too

pro tip for everyone: be careful bleaching freshly washed hair. the oils on your scalp help protect you. it is PAINFUL to bleach a clean head. it burns really, really bad.

@@waseabi5220 she bleached after doing a color remover (which still contains a little bleach) meaning she washed her hair and all the oils and remaining oils were then stripped with the color remover and THEN she bleached. There was nothing left to protect her scalp. And on top of that she exfoliated her scalp before hand which causes little abrasions on your scalp. Just like itching your head does.

When I bleached my hair that was dyed with permanent color, when I rinsed it my hair felt like there were tiny balls on it and very straw like. After tons of conditioner it was ok, but the feeling of hair scared me to pieces. Your hair looks gorgeous.

IM DEAD PLEASE READ!!!! 1. DO NOT wash your hair before bleaching. product? doesn't matter the bleach WILL eat through it. when you wash it you will take off any protection oils from your scalp and the bleach will cause more damage to your scalp AND you will create tiny abrasions on your scalp. 2. DO NOT exfoliate your scalp before bleaching! again, you're creating abrasions! 3. DO NOT do your roots at the same time as your lengths! this causes hot roots. (the reason your roots lifted to a yellow and your lengths lifted to only orange.) your scalp produces heat which in return assisted the bleach on your roots to lift faster and there for lighter. LIKE THIS SO OTHERS CAN LEARN

@@rheannonbenton If I'm being perfectly honest, I just "eyeball it" until I get a slightly runny paste that I can spread all over my hair easily. I massage it very well from scalp to ends. And then cover my hair with a shower cap or a plastic bag. I usually leave it for about 30 mins but I guess you can do more or less, depending on how much color you want to remove. I just do 30 mins at a time because it's quite drying. I discovered this from a youtuber called "Ladee". This is her video kzbin.info/www/bejne/p5C5nX1rdrt9oq8. There she adds the amount she uses.
