As a person who relaxed their hair for 25 years I have a bit of insight. Most people think all products are like shampoo.What people don’t understand is that product doesn’t “soak in”. It has to touch the hair. If it doesn’t nothing is happening. Also combing it through just removes the product, not distribute it.
@pumibel17202 жыл бұрын
Yes, and many seem to think that if they didn't spread the product well enough they can just leave it on longer and the product will spread to the missed areas.

I don't understand why people are this desperate to be all over bleach blonde in the first place, it would be so hard to maintain. I had an ombre done this summer, first time I ever had my hair bleached, and I wish I could take it back. I wanted a change but I miss my natural color. Plus my wave/curl pattern was destroyed for a while and I'm getting it back but it isn't 100% yet. Learned the hard way that I should just embrace my natural hair and I'll never have it bleached again.

May i ask a question that may seem kind of..rude..but it really isn’t meant to be, I am just curious..if you’re uninterested, I understand though.
@elscheib3 жыл бұрын
@@lecrishaevridge2123 Sure, go ahead. Also, let me say I'm not judging anyone who wants to look a certain way. I'm just saying that I don't understand going to the extent of totally destroying your hair to the point of it needing to be all cut/shaven just to achieve a color. If it turned out badly after the first attempt, rather than continuing to bleach it, I would stop and have a professional step in before it got any worse.

I think her regrowth was already too long for the heat of her scalp to affect the lightening evenly- she shouldn't have bleached her roots at the same time as the midsection- and of course taken finer sections and saturated them (preferably in foils) Very hard to do by yourself. Why do they always wait so long? Back in the day when I had my light blonde hair I did my roots every 3-4 Weeks.

@Moxleygirl3 жыл бұрын
Yes I learned this the hard way when I tried to bleach my roots after 6 months of not bleaching ( I was pregnant with my youngest son and I wanted to wait till after I gave birth that’s why I waited so long) and my roots were chicken yellow and my lengths were platinum, I ended up just dying everything red 🤣

Ok, I have to....as a hairdresser even back in the 1970's we only used products meant for on scalp bleaching, powder lightener was never used on the scalp. There were many to chose from, one we used often was Clairol 7th stage lightener. We added one or two protectors in 4 oz of clear "20 vol peroxide" then added the 2 oz bottle of lightener. We did not shake it but gently turned the bottle to mix it. Yes we used a bleach bottle for regrowth and "walked" the bleach up to just short of where the previously lightened hair started this because the lightener will expand as it develops. Never ever did we have a fail. Also, we used "Borne Blonde" frequently for toning (no peroxide) along with other brand toners. Having done many silver blondes, we used a drabber in the toner There were products "Silver Drops, Starlight" and etc. just a cap or two and any yellow was gone. In a pinch a drop or two of jet black would do the trick added to the toner. Of course we lightened hair to the pale yellow stage first!

Her regrowth is so long. In a salon situation we would bleach the band and leave the very roots because the heat of the scalp will make the roots develope MUCH quicker. After the band has been covered we would then go in and do the roots. The inch or 2 of banding wont lift as quick. Meaning she will be left with 3 different bands, the existing blonde, and between that and the roots would be yellow, and the roots would be much lighter. There is a reason why you must never let your scalp bleach grow out longer than 6 weeks... MAX. scalp bleach is very high maintanence and if you do not upkeep you will end up with banding and a very uneven colour. Rant over 😅
