The slow zoom that’s done on the more important parts of the video. Most experienced KZbinrs seem to use this. Is this done by key framing the scale up and down?

Which key do you hit to get the dope sheet that you show at 4:17?

@jakob4114 жыл бұрын
This was a helpful video with the dope sheet, I haven't stumbled into that yet. Just a note about your 'hard cut' - shift+k is a 'hold cut' found under the strip menu. Hold cut allows the frame that shows in the black bar to be frozen. It's a great way to stop a video without using any image transitions - so it works well if, for example, you need to talk about a certain aspect without running a new recording.
@CodeTechandTutorials4 жыл бұрын
That is good to know on the Hold Cut, I was looking for that on one vid and gave up and just took a screenshot of the frame lol
@jakob4114 жыл бұрын
I saw other video guides mentioning using a render screenshot, but the quality didn't match consistently. Hold cut is much better!

I played around with this today. So cool what you can do, like it’s a little bit nuts. Definitely some weirdness in it, but lots of good options. Although I am finding I end up running out of screen space once you have a load of collapsed menus and pullouts open in different windows 😂

So helpful! I can't seem to find any information on how to crop my video image? I have a lot of empty space and unnecessary background in my video and is it possible to crop the visual in blender?
@CodeTechandTutorials4 жыл бұрын
Short answer is yes, you can crop your video image. Click on your video clip in the sequencer, look at the properties over on the right. You will see a Transform section (or at least I do on the latest version of blender with default settings). There you will see options for Mirror, Offset, Crop, Video, and Color.

Have you check to make sure that your video clip and your output render resolution are the same? i feel like that could give you some extra space around your video

Thanks for the great explanation. I'm trying to get it to transform a simple image and can't get the rotate or zoom to work on an image, but it works fine on a video clip. Any idea how to get it to work on a still image without converting every still image into a separate video?
@YoshiroPoh4 жыл бұрын
Do you mean zooming a frame of a video? How about rendering a still image of the video by "screenshoting" that frame (Believe alt+f12?) and import that image into the particular frame? PArt A > Still Image > Part B? Just an idea..

Although this video saved me, after an hour of trying to figure why it was not working for me, there were a lot of things that were glossed over: the need to hover the mouse over the strip value element you want to change before pressing the i key on the keyboard. On my version of Blender 2.83 I couldn't use the transform for changing audio volume.. Teaching is not as easy as we think

And since there's keyframing capabilities, is there a way to edit the graph in the video editor???
@fakos74 жыл бұрын
hey great videos! i've just started doing video edits on blender and it's really good. the only thing, as you've mentioned in the past videos, it's really laggy to see your progress through the 'Preview' option in the Sequencer and that's okay, I managed to do everything through the normal Sequencer tab. That being said, I want to now add video (and audio) effects to my edited strips, but it makes it a lot more difficult as it's too laggy to do it through Preview. Doing video effects through the normal Sequencer is too much of a pain as you can't see your progress in a timely manner. Is there anything else I could do to? Even to make it easier or seemless? Hope that made sense, thanks!
@CodeTechandTutorials4 жыл бұрын
Working with audio is notoriously difficult as the previewer lets the audio continue while the video lags behind. Turning off the video preview will sorta fix that, but then you can't see the video. I haven't found a better solution to this other than to use a different program.
@tonya-yc6od4 жыл бұрын
I think something that helps is creating a proxy for the video strip. You just tap on the video strip look to the settings on the right. Go to the proxy thing and check the box for strip proxy and time code. After make sure you put it at like 25 percent. Click Rebuild proxy and time code indices. Then click in the black space of the preview area and hit the N key. And then under the proxy render size put it to 25 percent. It will make the preview of the video not as good in resolution but it should still render the right resolution that your video is in and the one that you have set up in the scene.

how'd you pull out an extra sheet called dope sheet. did you duplicate the tab or something, you seem to have skipped that part entirely. I can only use the one up top which i don't intend.

Thanks for this video! What if I have a transform effect strip with a video and want to split the video with the strip? Whenever I try this the new split half of the video does not have the effects I created on my transform effect strip.
@CodeTechandTutorials4 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the question. Usually what I do in that case is Render the transformed area, then bring in that rendered piece to work with. I realize this probably isn't optimal but I haven't found a better solution for those odd transform cases.

Need some help. So I recorded a video vertically, and when I rotate it in blender it gets cropped. The bottom and top parts of the video get cut out, like the resolutions of the video are wrong. I tried changing the res, but that only stretches the video. How do I rotate a video and keep its original res after it gets rotated. I found an old video of a guy doing it, but it doesn't seem to work with the new blender. PLZ HELP!!!
@CodeTechandTutorials4 жыл бұрын
It's hard to fully understand without seeing it, but in those cases you can often just tick Uniform Scale on the transformation layer and then Scale it up some until it fits the whole screen. Best of luck to you.
