I came for procedural islands, saw too many nodes and skipped to philosophical music part. I appreciate you sharing those feelings a lot. I keep thinking about this feeling of "lack of something other people have" since a long time. I try to find my place and my passion while youtube keeps pumping my feed with new tutorials I save and never manage to finish. It's always good to know that even as talented people like you who are able to do music, 3d, deep thinking while still being able to share your thoughts and knowledge in such a structured and interesting way, can feel a bit lost. I guess it's a part of being human today.

Thank you! They were interesting to play around with, because as I already mentioned in the video, it's an unfamiliar style for me personally :) As always, there's a lot of things to improve, but getting them done was the main concern..

Hey Aleksi, greetings from NYC. I stumbled on your channel by accident while looking through blender tutorials and I'm very happy to have found it. I'm also a musician and visual designer who cares deeply about the future of humanity (somehow those things do seem to go together). I'm also interested in creating content using a mixture of mediums. I haven't quite figured out what form that will take yet but I wanted you to know that you've been an inspiration. I'll be following your work so keep it up! -Jesse

Hi, Jesse! Great to hear about you, thanks a lot for commenting! Yeah, I think artists often find themselves at the basic existential questions, and maybe that tends to steer them towards the concerns about the future of humanity? I don't know, but it's always nice to know there are other artists thinking about the same things. It's amazing to hear that I've managed to provide inspiration towards your pursuits! And I know all too well that a project can take a lot of time to take shape, I myself spent a couple years trying to figure out the route I want to try with this Songs For Humanity stuff.. You'll also get there in due time :)

I learned so much in such a short time. This was awesome, I love your approach to making these videos with the patient positivity and extras at the end.

I totally enjoy this format but it would be nice if you could zoom in on the node trees. For a couple of seconds so we can more easily try out what you are explaining. Thanks!

I cannot find the initialize random amount and random seed node. 🤨

The pain for me is that number nodes in sorcar appear to have broken irrevocably. They just don't take their input and pass it on so much of the random capabilities are gone without manual tweaking for me. In fact the addon seems to be in a highly broken state in the most recent version of blender, trying to use it has been a frustrating mess of random breakage. One of the icospheres vanished after getting to the proportional editing>local transform for the bottom of the island, retroactively making it vanish from all previous previews, somehow having changed how the initial local transform worked on the added on and for some reason forcing both icospheres to localtransform together with no way to separate them(trying to do so tears and stretches the original one but doesn't separate it fully) Seems that custom script you have to disable proportional editing is necessary to solve this but I don't have any idea how to do that so unfortunately it seems I'm SOL.
