I’ve actually not seen other people use modifiers as much as you have to create abstract renders before. Most of the time it’s either particles or add-ons. 🤔 Modifiers are really quick to set up, so I enjoy these videos.

For everyone whose character is dark when they import them: Select the character's body, go to the Shader Editor and disconnect all the Nodes from the Output. Then select the MaterialOutput Node and press Ctrl + T. Three new Nodes should appear, one of them being an ImageTexture Node. Now, open the Diffuse-Picture File (that should be saved somewhere on your PC). After that is done, go to the Edit Mode, select all faces (with A) and then go to the UV Editor. You will have to select everything there as well. Then you can tap "Assign" in the Material Tab on the right. I hope this helps, even though, it might not be the perfect solution.

You can also do it by connecting the Base color node's "Color" directly to the material output's "Surface." makes it look a little weird, like its an emission material so the light points dont really affect it.

Great vids, keep em coming! If you really wanna make something look big the way our eyes are used to, skip the depth of field. Humans associate that with small things, when the focus field of the camera is narrow because of big aperture (tilt shift galore, shifting the narrow focus plane). Getting a scene that big in focus isn't a problem related to depth of field because the distance between the character and the alien thingy is so big. You'd have to place the camera way closer for it to feel real, like over his shoulder. Then you could have the dude blurred out and the thingy in focus or vice versa.

In my second try, I tried to follow more closely, but I can't get quite the results I see on your tutorial... My first try looks better somehow... I might be doing something wrong at some point... That nice contrast of shades and lights in the floating sphere pieces is missing in my renders... Still it's a nice exercise to get acquainted with the controls in Blender... I might try it a third or fourth time... 🙂

hey man, thanks a lot for these tutorials, i believe you should really make a premium series for this because it is the best and most achievable thing a beginner can do in blender and its just so motivating. with that said, i have a question/request plz, when we use an array modifer, is it possible to somehow "randlmize" the material of all the "Childs" of that array? the easiest way i found to use "multiple colors" for an array is to apply the modifier and then just play around with the shader editor to get intresting results or just apply different materials to different faces, but am wondering if maybe there is a better/smarter way to do this. Thanks a lot man and plz keep this up, i rarely hit the ringbell icon on KZbin and your last video just won me over, cheers!

First off hats off to Ducky for pulling an awesome tutorial vid. However I have 2 problems, first is the lighting problem at 5:46. How is it able to shine that nice? Can't get it that way. 2nd is the model I imported turns only pure black after adjusting the light and world light. Pure black as in no color no texture lol. Anyone can help me? 😕
@wolfblade97204 жыл бұрын
Update: Downloading the models from Mixamo site as fbx file will fix the problem of only seeing it single tone. The lighting part have to adjust accordingly if the values in the tutorial are not producing the same result. 😀
@wolfblade97204 жыл бұрын
@Remi Blein You have to experiment around with the lighting values. I don't have a solid answer because even I had to bump up to staggering values just to get similar lighting, not a perfect 1:1 replication of what Ducky3D did. If you still don't understand how lighting works in Blender, best to try checking the documentation manual/ other tutorials.

@barmetler4 жыл бұрын
@@awayfrombrains9726 I have thought the same thing, but sometimes I had that problem even if I did everything exactly as he did. Maybe it had something to do with the fact that I used blender 2.81, and he 2.8 or something...

For the second one, the Track Match Blend videos cover absolutely everything about camera tracking. You can get it on the blender web site for like $20, or if you're unable to support Blender, you can find it on the youtube channel of "AlcoholAdicted".
