Holy Moly! Thank you for turning me on to this, I had no idea about Blender before this video and I will definitely be checking it out! I would like to thank you so much for your videos and tutorials. I have grown from zero experience to (what I would consider to be) a pretty good user of After Effects and Premiere Pro thanks to you. Your style of tutorial is the best on KZbin and I hope you continue for many years to come :)

I cannot thank you enough. VFX was my dream diploma, unfortunately I didn't manage to hit the requirements cause I had a crappy GCE O-level score ;v; I was forced to do IT for 3 years. Kinda enjoyed it at first, but a few things happened along the way and I started to loathe it. Now that I've graduated and we're in the midst of quarantine, it's pretty convenient for me to learn all this now! So once again, thank you so much.

Loved the video! For some reason though, when I got to the part where we make a plane and add the lighting, my plane looks literally plain (no shine to it) and the lights will not work no matter how much I tweak the intensity settings. Not sure what happened along the way being I followed everything before it pretty exact. Either way, I really enjoyed this tutorial and I will continue following along! Thanks again!

Thank you for the feedback - great to hear you enjoyed the tutorial :) I wonder if you accidentally (shortcut key) changed your shading mode to flat. At the bottom of the 3D view you will find a shading mode selector (sphere icon), try changing that, that might do the trick :)
