One thing I won’t use is the Empty object. It’s better to use the rotation and position object of the array modifier 😉

I made this fence. I liked this fence until putting it around one single building was 3.3 gigs!!! Delete. Try another

You're not supposed to use it directly in far shots and real time simulations like games. If you're making a macro shot next to the fence then it is fine, but for situations like yours you're supposed to bake textures and use them on a simple plane, you can barely notice the difference even up close.
