This is an awesome tutorial!! If you're like me, here are the shortcuts I've observed being used in this tutorial: Ctrl + J (When in object mode) to merge or join two selected objects Shift + R (Works in sculpting mode, used for remeshing, this brings up the grid) Shift + Middle mouse button to pan ( A lifesaver for me) Ctrl + Middle mouse button (For zooming in and out) Alt + Middle mouse button(Moving in left, right, up or down) to switch between different viewport modes (Front,Top etc) I'll add more shortcuts and tips as I progress. Okay so I'm kinda new to Blender and I'm loving it. I've used 3dmax and C4D for a couple of years and I'm considering a switch now. I wish Blender users would share the shortcuts they use so as to make the app more user friendly than it is right now. I'm working on this character as a method of learning the ins and out of Blender.

Eh, you don't really learn a lot from tracing someone elses work.

@@jucctin5243 It really doesn't, it hinders you. To get good at sculpting you really need to learn anatomy and how it all works, tracing a sculpt is the exact same as tracing a drawing, the only difference is the extra dimension 3d gives.

This is a great tutorial, and as somebody that wants to look into doing some stylized characters... first one planning to do Superman, this will be a great place to start.

whew - finished this 17 minutes tutorial. Took me probably 5-6 hours. Much of the time I was repeating the same tiny bit at 1/2 playback speed several times before before figuring out what to do. The eyes and eye brow was probably the most difficult. I'm happy with my result although it doesn't look even close to what it is supposed to look like. Thank you very much for this tutorial. On to the second part.

@@linosberisha1040 this one one of those places where I was playing back at 1/2 speed, and pausing after each keystroke. I don't remember what I did, but eventually I was able to get those brows created. Remember to turn snap on (was it snap to face?)

@@jkristia2011 thanks i tried playing in slow mo but i couldnt figure it out anyways i didnt use plane like he did in the video i used a sphere to create the brows and ended up looking the same

I sorted out the eyebrow part. 1. On object mode, press Shift + A to add 2. Add a plane 3. Press Tab to go to edit mode 4. Turn on Snap on the magnet icon on the top bar 5. Click on the down chevron to select Snap to Face 6. Leave selected only Snap with Closest 7. Check Project Onto Self and Project Individual Elements 8. Press G to move the plane. It will snap to any faces, so try to make its center to be close to the eyebrow 9. Press M (merge) and select To Center. This will make all vertexes become one (essentially becoming just a point) 10. Press 1 to have the Select Mode on Vertex 11. With the single vertex selected, press E to extrude and make an Edge 12. Press 2 to select that edge 13. Press E to extrude the edge (tip: If you're being annoyed by the elements automerging, check the right side bar under Options if AutoMerge is checked) 14. Keep on extruding edges until the eyebrow ends. Bonus: You can press S to scale the edges and R to rotate them.

For sculpting, I recommend using the dynapto(I’m pretty sure that’s how it’s spelled) by toggling it in the N shortcut menu and set the value to 3. It just adds vertices as necessary while you sculpt and then you can just remesh it later to make it clean. You might want to subdivide the original shape before you do that tho

You can make this all out of one mesh. Isn't difficult albeit you'll need practice but using more than one mesh is impractical especially as you finish out your proj

Thanks for the awsome tutorial. For some odd reason however Im having trouble with the voxeling the shoulders, it wont apply the scale the mesh. does anyone know how to work around this, and why might this be happening? Thanks!

10:41 you use crease but it is like draw sharp. I tried with crease but it didn't work it looked weird and then I figured out that I should draw sharp
