ChatGPT comes in handy when writing quick-and-dirty QoL add-ons. After some tinkering, I managed to create a simple ngon/tris counter add-on. However, I'm still trying to figure out how to get it to highlight said meshes.

Cool video, thanks! Do you know a way to clean up all broken addons that were installed in the process? I had a difficult time with this and continuously had to reset to factory settings, which is unfortunate.

You can unload the addon or restart blender. That’s why I always check them as script before make them into an addon.

I was trying multiple times to make addon which will add a slider for controlling proportional editing brush size with ChatGPT. No luck. And even taking into account what im not programmer, i was clearly see what GPT was trying to write some absolute nonsense. Maybe ChatGPT have some weak spots, i dunno. But it's cool that GPT can be helpful sometimes.

That’s probably why. ChatGPT is good for doing stuff that are executed by the click of a button. Not sure you can do anything about the mouse as you would have to constantly check what it’s doing. That would be a background process

gpt4 is necessary for a better code interpreter, this code is likely learned and regurgitated from text without full understanding it

you can make a chat bot and fill it with information you want it to use such as manuals and text files even forms of trouble shooting.

Same thing. It only allows you to make longer script but I didn’t see any difference for the coding itself. And it’s supposed to be faster but now 3,5 is super fast.

Interesting. I tried to get some nuke scripts out of 3.5 but i failed most of the times. Was wondering if it would be worth paying for gpt 4 but guess not then. Not sure if I'm just prompting it wrong or nuke is just less documented or something. Have you ever tried it for nuke scripts?@@BlenderBob

I tried chatgpt but it seems like it can just automate simple tasks and you having exact idea about the execution so it just write in syntax but for a person who is complete beginner, it will just create code and he will end up solving code each time, maybe he can find a little solution but not a complete, optimized and flexible solution.

Also I think AI is at very preliminary stage that's why it is available to general public for free to use people's mind to fix it's bugs and train it. Otherwise if it was finished, it will be offered as a corporate solution that will generate profit and companies will charge for it. If the valuation of ai is 80 billion then absolutely it can't be given free and if it really want to help people then why not become open-source from start. I don't think that we should rely more on such platforms. Also, I think AI is very good at organized work but it is very bad on unorganized stuff and even if some changes happen in the organise stuff, it loses its edge. Anyway, people can have different views on it, I welcome them to have more deeper understanding.

Well, it works for me. ChatGTP 3.5 is free but if you want to generate longer code you need V4 and this one is not free.
