I know this is very old but this was very helpful in understanding how to start off. It's a little overwhelming to start with all these different kinds of tobacco. Thank you.

Turkish tobacco brings good taste in a Blend .. and it makes that the Cigarette burns much smoother and longer 😉👍

Whole leaf is the way to go. I do 20% dark fire, 40% burley, 20% lemon Virginia and 20% first priming light leaf. Makes a very tasty and bold smoke. I really like Izmir Turkish but it has to high of a pH for me and I dislike the tongue bite.

I really need some help here! Can someone answer my questions, please? I live in Brazil and i'm doing a garden in my yard, that means i can't do flue-curing, or fire-curing. Sun-curing woul'd be ideal because here in Brazil is a very, very hot place with a low humidity (35%). Rains only in two in two months. The problem is that i don't like the tabaccos used in sun-curing, too spicy and need alot of aging. So, in Brazil the climate per day is about 110 fahrenheit daily, could I do some air-curing? Is that possible? I mean, wind is pretty low here but we have alot of sun. I don't know what seed i should plant... virginia gold for trying air-curing? Nope, right? Latakia i don't like and its sun-cured. I just have Burley and Maryland for air-curing, woul'd be good, works in my climate? Ty!

Hi Al I live in Asia and usually smoke Amber Leaf or Golden Virginia, do you know what leaves I would need to blend to make a similar blend, any advice would be greatly appreciated, the local stuff is horrendous LOL

Have you ever considered using grams instead of ounces to make your measurements and calculations easier
@alhefner Жыл бұрын
Nope. Using either one is equally easy. The ounce measurement is more familiar to me, so I use that.
@conanruisi Жыл бұрын
@@alhefner I’m just sayin cus 0.10 ounces is 2.834 grams and that number gives you more information to do a more accurate measurement.

If I want fine grind can I run it thru the grinder more than once?
@alhefner5 жыл бұрын
Running tobacco through a SHREDDER more than once will result in a product that is more like tobacco crumble and will be unsafe to use for cigarettes... it might be OK in a pipe but, in a cigarette, hot embers will always be falling from the tip.
