Hey! Just wanted to point out that while sinister was putting his dna in everyone since resurrections started, the second they were resurrected, hope “cleansed” the genetics of the resurrected mutant making it as if they never had his genetics in the first place which is why he needed hope to die and get resurrected by someone with a less potent, but similar mutation (synch) so that the sinister genetics wouldnt be cleansed upon resurrection. So actually, every mutant resurrected after hope’s death is infected which is why characters like mystique and destiny aren’t compromised and why the first resurrections after hopes death (hope, Charles, Emma, and exodus) are the first to be revealed as sinister because it was hopes death that kickstarted this whole thing. Also stated in the text that Shaw didn't "take over" a hell dimension, he literally turned the mutant's Waiting Room into a hell dimension to take his seat at the infernal parliament.

Hope was interfering with Sinisters DNA when she was resurrecting mutants thats why in Immortal #9 she was his #1 priority, once she died his DNA was able to go into mutants. So characters who have died and been resurrected after Immortal 10 would be infected. Characters resurrected before Hope’s death have nothing to worry about since Hope essentially deleted his DNA, Mystique and Raven are not compromised at the moment.

Hope's power cleansed the DNA when resurrecting mutants not her own DNA, that's why he needed to kill Hope so that she was compromised, any mutant resurrected before Hope's death is not compromised. Also remember the compromised council ruled to extend the resurrection protocols to every human that accepted to get an X-Gene implanted that's why everyone got so mad with the fake Orchis attack on the island

It’s true, that sinister has had his Trojan horse in the mutant DNA library since the beginning, but since Hope Summers was apart of the resurrection circuit in The Five, she would unknowingly erase Sinisters DNA tampering. So everyone resurrected while Hope was a part of that is Sinister DNA free. When Sync replaced Hope within The Five the anomaly Hope had of purifying the DNA was no longer in the picture so only then did sinister original take over plans go back on track

Mystique and Destiny not being affected is likely because Hope was still involved in their resurrection. Sinister had to take Hope out so his genetic tampering wasn't fixed, and they haven't died since Sinister overcame the Hope hurdle. The genetic take over has to happen during resurrection it seems, so those two remain untampered.

They didn’t kill him coz he betrayed mutants. They killed him bcoz he has done what they wanted without knowing so they don’t need him anymore, hence kill him off. This is leading up to year 100 and 1000. We’re coming close to Nimrod saga and those future humans and Phalanx.

Loved the review. It also sparked many questions regarding so many aspects that have progressed since the House and Powers of X started, such as what mutants haven't gone under the resurrection protocols since it started. Storm being one of many. The killing of Cypher doesn't cover that didn't Doug die earlier but resurrected via Warlock, via the tech virus, so stabbing him might not actually kill him? Wanda's resurrection as a non-mutant, along with Mystique & Destiny, along with mutants in Other World's would be unaddressed. Even the other multiverse's mutants objecting to Simister's actions in 616 or Kang? Even the Lords of the Underworld in and outside of 616 and Death herself, objected to their realms of their empires being denied more inhabitants. It will be an interesting run, but the Time Lords, Kang's and even the other Universal empires, Kree, Shiar, Brood might have interesting takes. Although, the Vampire Nation might be interested in a endless supply of blood but resurrected and remembers being drained. The thought of endless humans/mutants, Sinister or not, being ever growing, never ending consuming resources and most of all, talking to one's self and losing the argument to one's self is perhaps, a version of eternal turmoil that one never envisions.

I'm sure the story will have one or two lasting effects, but it is giving me the vibes of something with changes way too drastic to stick with the way the other non-X properties would be affected. Heck, Sinister himself already regretted leaving the Council's personalities in place and will have to backtrack a bunch of what he set up for this timeline anyway. Ironic he's technically going to have a heroic role stopping the actions of the Sinister-infected Quiet Council. Just as Destiny said: we're going to have to be on the same side. They'll end up aligning efforts to retrieve a Moira and reset, or use some other time travel method to the same outcome. I wonder what cool Chimera will be a new mainstay.

Sinisters genes didn't affect mystique and destiny because hope was cleansing clones when she resurrection. So people weren't being affected by the sinister gene until hope died and was taken over. Since they haven't died since hopes resurrection he has no control over them

Man, this whole story is such a trip! Sinister's influence is everyone becoming a darker, more driven version of themselves. They believe their own press and had picked up a few of Sinister's tricks in the process. I love this!

PS. I do entirely agree with you about sinisters potential face turn--the prime mover in the battle to undo what he himself has done. Kieron telegraphed the turn by suggesting that a world shaped entirely by the hand of sinister would be particularly disastrous for sinister himself, and the last page of SOS is a clear indication that even though sinister made this world he is not in control of it

As someone else wrote, only mutants who were resurrected after Immortal X-Men 10 are infected. Previously, Hope basically erased Sinister's DNA without even knowing. That's why Mystique, Destiny and Storm are free.

Not the most original concept but that first issue felt like it was consciously fast tracked. The call backs to Powers of X were finally acknowledged, and though I agree with Blerd on it being my least fav. part of the entire storyline, it does have the biggest question and that is who (officially) is the Librarian and his backstory? And how that will play towards the future (or if Powers of X has a say, the eventual end) of the X-Men. They also seem to give Orhsis a end I wish wasn't potentially spoil-ish, a virus.... seen so logical that it may have ruined the actual pending war. Or may have set a bar that nothing short of excellent writing will have to overcome. Overall, not looking for the "tie-in" books (expect Storm and the Brotherhood) but I will have to endure to see the ending. Love the videos and the Sat. discussions.

I wonder why Synch's powers didn't work like Hope's .Technically he should be able to cancel Sinister's tampering or do it even better than Hope or to be safe to check her memory backups or copy her abilities just in case it doesn't go well with his abilities ,although i don't know if he can copy a dead person's gifts .

Valid question as Hope had insight of Exodus power that he hadn't realized which if Synch could duplicate any power mutant or not, he would have had that ability to absorb Hope's, which if the thought that only Hope could cleanse added DNA of Sinister should have been included in the power set that he duplicated. The question of copying a dead person's gifts might be another valid question, as Synch powers have increased since his resurrection and even more so since the Vault resurrection but he must have also duplicated Darwin's powers during the vault years, so we'll have to see if his power since resurrection a muscle memory of the body and consciousness memory are one, the other or a combination of the two.

I think people have already said it, but you don't become sinister until AFTER Hope is brought back with Synch. Before that, Hope was taking out sinister's DNA when she was resurrecting people, which is why is wanted her to be on the council pre-Judgment Day so she would have been killed. Mystique and Destiny are fine as of now.

All of the stuff that happens in this comic series isn't going to stay canon. I'm betting that Sinister is actually preprogrammed with a vainglorious need to be in absolute control, probably an attempt by his maker the original Nathaniel to ensure "he" will always come out on top. The four suits were like the original Nathaniel playing a game, setting it up ahead of time. The house always wins. I think this is going to culminate in Sinister's redemption; he actually had no choice but to be a villain. However when it's revealed to him that OG Nathaniel is responsible for him being a villain the greed and domination gene will take over and he'll want to get rid of it entirely. So he removes the gene that makes him evil in the end.

Speaking of Eternals, I wonder if Sinister did anything with the Deviants who might be the source of the x-gene, in fact, the birthing sea and the seed from the Marauders series might be a mixture of human and deviant DNA to explain how it happened. Sinister seems to be experimenting with Superhumans like Spider-Man and there was a time that he was interested in Inhumans when it was discovered that inhuman DNA was stronger then mutant DNA. There's also the fact that Xavier's daughter rules the Shi'ar empire and is a mutant. I wonder if this will be the reason for Beast's dark personality, that maybe Sinister had him converted first.
