I know everyone loves the big cues like 'American Venom' (I do too) but this might be the best piece of the soundtrack to me. It really captures something particular to the story of RDR2.

The two soundtrack covers couldn't be more appropriate, Arthur opposed to Micah. The two most important characters of the story arguably. Micah is the epitamy of a man beyond redemption and a mirror of what Arthur struggles to not be. (depending on how you play)

Seven V2 Yes! Micah is a dark reflection of Arthur. I can’t recall the exact lines but when Arthur breaks Micah free they have some dialogue along the lines of Micah: You’re a funny man, Arthur. Why do you have to be so sour all the time? Arthur: Yeah well you ain’t funny so why do you always have to play the court jester? Shit, even their clothes are the opposite! Arthur: dark hat, hair, pants, blue shirt, light jacket. Micah: light hat, hair, pants, red shirt, dark jacket.

While Arthur defends what Dutch and Hosea built long ago, the reason why they stole and made a fortune; to preserve the family. Micah fights for himself, personalizing the idea of "every man for himself" or bringing the lesser evil to bear. While Arthur doesn't forget why they're there. These two ideals are what define Dutch, and after Hosea's death as an empathic conscience between Dutch and the family, Micah arrives to become the voice that satisfies Dutch's appetites.

the moment where Arthur asked his horse to take him home is so much sweeter than it has any right to be. I think it was amplified by the fact that the horse I had was one I stole from the Murfee Brood, and made it my mission to take good care of her. I named her Baby Doll. There were so many times where that fictional creature saved my hide, but all of that was due to me commanding her. Her carrying Arthur home when he was barely strong enough to hold onto her felt personal. Like a debt repaid and a bond cemented.
