This is the most beautiful song ever. A sister in our church requested this song to be played at her funeral when she dies. We ended up playing it for worship on a Sunday morning a few weeks later and it was one of the most beautiful moments I’ve ever encountered. I play drums for my church and just kept thinking of how glorious God is and how wonderful it will be on the day he brings me home. What a blessing to have the assurance of salvation. Nothing that has happened to us on earth will ever undo what Jesus has done on the cross. I praise God for salvation and for my sister in Christ that placed this song in our path.

My 7-year-old had a great day in Christ yesterday. Today, I work from 1 pm until 10 pm, and it’s still summertime, so I was hopeful for another solid morning with him. However, he was a punk to little bro and to me all morning. We Prayed & i disciplined him, but he kept being lame & started to ignore/defy my wife, so I stopped him, said we should Pray again, and said it was time to read the Word. He said no. (He’s never said no to Prayer or the Word!) I told him we needed to listen to a hymn. We’ve been learning “Blessed Assurance” over the last few weeks, so I typed it in. He said he didn’t want to listen to it this time, but I told him he had to. I’ve been listening to these old-school versions of this hymn, so I don’t know how we got to yours, but I’m so insanely thankful that we did! Within 3 minutes of your vid., my boy confessed his sins, told everybody he was sorrier than I’ll get out, and started sword-fighting with his brother! He just asked me when we’re going to read the Scriptures. Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU for being used by our AWESOME GOD!

I've been blessed so much this evening by this song and these talented artists. Thank you! I recently lost my beloved mom, and within two months, i lost my auntie (her sister).I just got diagnosed with a life-threatening kidney disease; I was hospitalized for almost a week. I felt the pangs of death at the time. All of these events happened while I was trying to finish graduate school at the end of 2016. Though I am still feeling unwell, have limited mobility, and I am grieving a lot...but somehow, I managed to graduate with my master's and I was the student speaker at graduation.... this is my story. When that is not even close to what He meant. He simply meant to not prevent anyone from coming to Him, based on age, appearance, status, etc...

We've performed this song at our church - the first time I heard it - and it made me look up this version, then the whole album, then the worship band themselves, this church... they're all so completely sold out for Christ, it's quite the inspiration. Every time I hear this song, I get goosebumps, thinking of how much Jesus has done for us, how we never deserved it, yet freely received his gift of Salvation... then I LOVE the end "tag" or bridge part, "Oh, what a Savior, Wonderful Jesus" to "Death could not hold You, You are victorious, Praise to the Risen King!" Omg. I love this song and have sung it in choir and as a praise and worship solo since I was 4. I’m 32 now and never have I sung the second verse. I had revival tonight which I enjoyed and now Im home watching tv. This song came to my heart and then I decided to look it up on YT which I have never done. There were plenty of versions and I had chosen one but backed out before I listened to it. I came all the way back up the page before choosing this one. Not because it was the first video, but because something just said click it. I’m so very glad I did. I’ve never, ever heard of this band before. I was saved two years ago. I was in a terrible state then, very suicidal. in and out of psychiatric hospitals. I was ready to hold on to anything that would give me peace. I found peace in the presence of God...and the love of the brethren who surrounded me inspired me to want what they had. I had never seen a people so giving and loving all for the sake of the Lord. Two years later im still on anti depressants. I still struggle with mental health in general and today I found myself wanting to end it again. I never thought id be back here. But everything seems so bleak. My life in university was suppose to be the point of peace instead it is where life changed as I knew it. Im 22 years old and sometimes I wonder if I truly am saved because I haven't felt this fullness that causes me to want to forsake everything for the sake of the Lord. I want to love Jesus but its hard to be consistent with anything with bipolar. Will I ever grow? will I ever change? will I ever know true salvation? all I know is that each day im getting more and more weary...tired of fighting

As a Master Carpenter, He probably used to make yokes for oxen, and for donkeys, and He would make a yoke that would fit them perfectly, that would allow them to do their job well, and find fulfillment in their work, and that would be easy to remove at the end of an honest day's work. Dear Father God, please grant Lucia true rest in You that only You can give, and help her to experience Your deep and never-leaving Peace as she walks closely with You all the rest of the days of her life. Help her to turn her eyes to Jesus, who died for her son and whose body was broken for her healing as Isaiah 53:5 says. Help her to do all things in remembrance of Him. And while I'm at it, Lord, help me to do nothing but rejoice in the incredible Truth that Christ died for me! You, Jesus, are insanely AWESOME! Truly, you, JESUS CHRIST OF NAZARETH, are a wonderful Savior as this old Fanny Crosby song says, and I Pray that You would rapture Your Church soon so that we could see You face to face! I grew up singing this song in church and I always cried whenever I sing it, knowing that it was my grandpa's favorite song and how this song always reminded me of him. But as I grew up more in understanding Jesus' love and undeserving grace in my life, I develop a way deeper understanding of the song and it gets even more emotional every time I sing this song. Now, every time I listen to or sing this song, not only that I get to know how much Jesus loves me and how much my grandpa had experienced that very same love, but I also get to understand how my grandpa was the guy I always looked up to. A little bio on the author of this hymn: 3/24==== It's the birthday of a great writer of hymns, Fanny Crosby, born in Southeast, New York (1820). When she was an infant, she got sick and the family accidentally hired a quack doctor who prescribed mustard plasters on her eyes, and she went blind. Throughout her career, she wrote thousands of hymns. No one knows exactly how many she wrote, the hymnals were hesitant to print too many hymns by one person, so Crosby used about 100 different pseudonyms - but probably between 3,000 and 8,000. Her best-known hymn is "Blessed Assurance,"

The part that hits my soul hard is right at the 6:04 mark. When the lead singer switches to the harmony and sings that as the lead. Sooo powerful. And they add the minor as well. The lyrics alone are enough to bring you to your knees. But when you break down what the musicians are also doing. There’s something powerful to the ear and soul when bands do just that.
