​@Alritealritealrite Blue fragrances are based of Bleu de Chanel Chanel basically started the genre. Sauvage was the second one in the genre. It's not the same as what you are referring to, which is aquatics. Blue fragrances are essentially modernized fougères, so they usually feature classic citrus and lavender, sometimes other herbs and spices, but they are modernised with warm bases like amber, vanilla, sandalwood and ambroxan. They are often compared with the smell of male shower gels. They smell clean, warm and fresh at the same time. Other examples are YSL Y, PDM Percival and ADG Profondo. Hopefully this is a clear explanation!

I’ve actually only just smelled the EDP recently, and while I was always a fan of the edt and parfum, the EDP is the best of the line, IMO. It’s the perfect middle ground between the two, with none of the performance drawbacks of either. I just bought a 5oz bottle of the EDP and I think it’ll be my staple blue for the next 5-10 years lol

BDC EDP is one of my most complimented fragrances. I have all 3 concentrations, but the EDP is the most versatile of the 3, imo. I tend to wear this to work and it lasts all day. "You smell wonderful!" a colleague said recently! BDC is elegant and classy.

@@ChadSecrets interestingly, I think that the Parfum is a misunderstood flanker. I’ve read comments like “it doesn’t project well” etc. It’s not meant to be loud and obnoxious. I tend to reach for the Parfum when I’m formally dressed. I got a compliment from a colleague who was about 4 feet away. The Parfum has the most natural smelling ingredients. It’s dark, dense and creamy. I call it a subtle power fragrance.

based on my research, Bleu De Chanel EDT is one true blue aquatic fragrance. The EDP and Parfum are actually "flankers" of the EDT with completely different notes profile. The EDP is actually an amber fragrance and the Parfum is actually a woody fragrance.

Your very good review is leaving out the various pH levels men have. Most of the time my high pH turns non-musk fragrances sour quickly and I end up with the conflicting scents of what has landed or rubbed onto my skin and what is on my clothes. That didn't happen with Bleu. I'll back check to see if you have talked about pH and it's effect on the compliment. Just tried Bleu de Chanel today and even though it didn't smell all that great to me (6 out of 10) the women were getting distracted around me. One comment was that I smelled like "some kind of woodsy sandalwood cigar." That's in the fifth hour. After three hours with it on I asked my friends how they rated it and it got a solid 9! (with two tens and eights, one ten.) That's eight women and three men. Nobody disliked it and two women were drooling!

I've sworn by the EDT for a while. I just love that zingy grapefruit note. I tried the EDP this time around..The grapefruit top is still there, but it doesn't "pop" like it does with the EDT. It's a lot more woody and smells almost minty to me as it transitions. It's more subdued to me and it is more subtle. Definitely more "grown man" than the EDT. I find that I do have to overspray Chanel fragrances a bit. EDT I was pumping 10-12. With the EDP 8-10. BDC is my favorite fragrance. I will never be without it.

Well i cant. Simply because they are completely different and targeted at two types of people. Ysl y edp is sweeter and louder, targeted at a younger male. Bleu de chanel is classy and more mature targeted at professionals. Whatever sounds like it would fit you better go with that 👌

it just doesn’t work with my skin very well. The opening to me reminds me of Eros Flame for some reason and then it dries down into a less sweet, less leathery Armani Code. I just don’t understand the hype . Like it smells good but it’s just not a masterpiece like people say imo. I could be going nose blind but it seems to disappear off my skin after an hour. I’ve only had it three days and usually after a week I know for sure wether i like it or not.

Edp smells timeless and is wonderful. The EDT performs much better because the EDP does not project well and quickly becomes a skin scent. Considering the name brand and the cost that makes it very disappointing.

Thats why i do them, always important to see what the community thinks! Longevity is absolutely a factor most should make and do make in regards to purchasing a fragrance. Not everyone can afford to re spray aventus every 3 hours. People also wouldn't care so much about reformulations if it didn't matter. Most reviewers will say longevity doesn't matter because they have 300+ frags and get them free, or as a scapegoat as to why a fragrance they are promoting isn't lasting 😅
