Too much hating on the EDT! I have all three of them; and honestly, the EDT has the best projection and longevity of the three. 🤷 The Parfum has the best opening; but the dry down is no better than the EDP.

I’m a YSL L’Homme and La Nuit De L’Homme kind of guy, but Bleu De Chanel EDT is the most high value fragrance in my collection. It’s a such a banger and longevity is great being a EDT. If I only have one fragrance it would hands be the EDT due to value, longevity, and being so well rounded.

Your point about how you use it is important…I have smelled all and have only the EDT. When I grab BDC, I want something fresh and easy to smell (car trips, meetings, and planes) and if/when someone asks, you can say it’s Chanel. For sweet and rich in colder months, there are way too many great scents available, for me to grab any Chanel.

I absolutely agree with you. Edt was one of the first blue fragrances, but nowadays there are a lot of alternatives, most of them are cheaper. IMO, if Edp is a nice cake, Parfum is the same cake covered with cream. And if you're over 40, it's definitely more suitable. Nice presentation, wonderful opinions, thanks.

To me, the Parfum is a different fragrance than the EDP. I have both, and must say the EDP is more versatile. Parfum only for more formal occasions, but only lasts 2-3 hrs for me.

THANK YOU MONIKA! I've never actually owned any BDC of all the things I've bought and when my wife finally gave it a try at our Ulta she loved it. My problem is I couldn't remember which version it was! When we went back the tester was gone so I was lost 😔. This helps a lot though. I own the Parfum and I love how it just lingers and lingers all day. Your nose won’t get the full effect if you’re testing in store. Spray it on yourself and let it cook on your skin. I kid you not, but Blue de Chanel has somewhat of a magical effect when you are hosting meetings or presentations. You just cruise on them so well when you're wearing it. The parfum is a favourite, but edp is also has an nice fresher touch compared to the bolder touch of parfum. But both are amazing

For me, I prefer the EDT. All.the versions are great but I love the freshness of the EDT. It is great for the spring and summer. I prefer grabbing Eros Flame and Spicebomb Extreme for the colder weather.

EDT for me, it's in my opinion the Royal Crown of the Blue fragances, very elegant but at the same time pretty versatile, not cheap AT ALL. Meanwhile EDP or Parfum are pretty good, but they are just too solemn fragances to be called "blue"; in formal events I just prefer to use a different thing instead a "serious" version of Bleu de Chanel. I’ve only tried the EDT. I bought a bottle in 2015. I loved the scent. Performance was just average though. I just ordered the EDP directly from Chanel. I’m excited to try it. I know I will love it since I already love the original EDT scent. Maybe in the future I’ll try the Parfum too. I also have Platinum Egoist and Allure Homme Sport Eau Extrême. They are all great fragrances.

After getting a sample of EDT and EDP, a year ago, watching your video just now, as well as reading some comments, I pulled the cord and just now ordered the Parfum from the Chanel website. I also wanted to get the EDP, but both of them were a bit more than I wanted to spend. I also thought about layering an EDT with a Parfum, or an EDP but never heard anything about how that would work out until I read some comments here about it, and that it works well, so I might eventually try that. One thing which is interesting is that I recently bought bleu de chanel edt,I wasn't supposed to buy the edt I was meant to buy the parfum because it was nice ,the sales woman told me all the price ranges but at home before going to buy I became confused about the price I became stunned when I got to the store by how expensive the parfum was. I tested the edt it was nice I liked it but little did I know that edt was the least liked on KZbin fragrance community because I didn't have bleu de chanel so I never noticed there was a difference in the way people liked the three bleus,I only realized after I bought the edt and I liked the edt when I purchased it especially when I saw how cheap it was for a chanel,so I felt like I wasted money buying it after I saw how people gravitated towards others over mine,and I still like it,edp I'll purchase later in the year when the money is right.I guess you have to start somewhere.

Chanel Perfume 2018 is better than the perfume that is now available in stores. There is a big difference between them. The smell of 2018 perfume lasts more than ten hours, and the perfume that is now in stores does not smell more than three hours.

How tf the EDT doesn't smell like BDC? It was literally the first BDC. The edt IS Bleu de Chanel

I have the EDP and I really enjoy it. However I recently tried the Parfum and fell in love. It is so balanced IMO. I love the creaminess of it. It is airy without any loss in its density, if that makes any sense. To me the Parfum is a perfect 10/10. It is a bit sweeter, but that sweetness is not out of place. It’s like an expertly crafted set of high-end headphones. It does everything well. The only other fragrance I rated a 10 is Sauvage Elixir, but that is a different beast. :)

I'm abit lost with what you mean by the edt doesn't smell like bleu de chanel? It's the first? It's the original. How can the original not smell like Bleu de chanel when it was released 2010. The edp was made by the creators son which was release 4 years later? I'm just lost what you mean by that that's all.

EDT and Parfum combined are heavenly. EDT is brighter, attention grabbing goodness that is magnetic. As you get closer to the wearer, you begin to experience the depth and elegance of the Parfum. Especially if applied to the right areas, as it settles onto your skin, It becomes like a warm blanket that you want to wrap yourself around. Whether its your first encounter, or a longer romance, it is a scent that you do not forget. A signature scent well worth the price of admission.

EDT all day, although not worth the money. There are better smelling fragrances for less expensive, eg ) dolce and gabbana pour homme. But is it a good fragrance, yes it is, very nice

Sadly EDP and Parfum don't project very much, very close to the skin scents. The only Bleu with decent projection is the EDT.

Totally agree, bro! EDT all the way! The Parfum has the best opening (to my nose); but the dry down is no better than the EDP. And you're right, the EDT has the best projection and longevity of the three. ... And gets me the most compliments. 👍😉

Monika could you answer a question or two regarding your view of the EDT? Have you always held this dislike of it, or are you basing that on the fact it's purportedly been reformulated from its former glory? The EDT WAS what made BDC what it is, not just the fact that it's Chanel. Chanels made some trash as well occasionally, as they all do, or at the very least have had some that weren't a blowout success, but I digress, the EDT is still very successful but from a woman and frag reviewers perspective do you just not like it at all? Or did you used to like it years prior and it has changed? Personally, I love the EDT and EDP but the Parfum is just too subdued and basic to me.... It doesn't have that sharp citrus hit backed by woods and that smells like money (not literally) like the eau de toilette does. The parfum seems like someone who wants to pull off the sharp dressed, wild, yet successful scent of the EDT but can't follow all the way through.

I agree 100%, the EDT is the only actual "bleu" scent of the 3. Maybe people are just jaded because of the popularity of this and it's imitators. But the EDT is my favorite.

I love chanel fragrances for men! Have exactly the same opinion on the 3 bleu de chanel. Beside them i love the whole allure line.. for me the best fragrances they smell expensive, refined, are mass pleasing and unique at the same time

@@ST-actual i heard about this while initially researching Sauvage Elixir. The video from from a perfumer named Aaron terence Hughes. He said to layer Elixir with EDP. So I'm assuming BDC Parfum layered with EDP would be great too. You would totally recommend it?

Yeah, layering is great and a new way to get your own signature scent. Start with similar scents from the same house or mix the edt and edp of the same cologne.

Scent-wise, parfum is the best. But if you are looking for a vibrant and fresher scent that projects well, go for EDT.
