In 1980 I went to look at a 64 Stingray Flopper for $1,200. Barebones with a narrowed Olds rear axle. I balked and walked away though. The glass was in complete need of fresh gelcoat. Too much dough for chassis with out much else. 12 second ChevyII turnkey was $2,250. Back in the day when the dollar was strong and interest rate in a savings account yielded 5.25%. so why do they race 1/4 mile at Thompson but only 1/8 mile at Norwalk? Thompson shutdown are is longer than Norwalk but also downhill. so it seems shorter.
