The burned wiring seems to be a common issue with BLI locomotives. I ended up doing a decoder buddy, econami, replacement install on a BLI Paragon II Mikado due to burned wiring 6 wires total, blew the board and speakers.

I have a BLI 4-12-2 (The Curve Straightener) that has developed some issues. Pretty sure the decoder has gone south. Gonna have to fix that one'a these days, as old Pa Kettle used to say.

Wow. That is what I like to see. Sorts out the crap from the good locos/decoders.So hard to get a loco that will crawl like that.I always knew that BLI locos have a good drive, but they just need a good decoder to bring out their true performance.Nice job, thankyou. Michael NZ

I have a request if possible. A ho scale walthers sw1 sound decoder install. The original run without dcc. I have one, open it up said no way . Thank you for any help with it....

How difficult would it be to remove the cab figures from one of these BLI locomotives?

Not hard. Just remove the shell. The figures are mounted with little posts to the cab.
