Actually Malaysian uses a mix of English words a lot in daily life so I'm just as confused as Isaac thinking about what do we say "so sweet" in Malay haha, bcs we literally just said it like in English. I guess to a certain point, in different states, people do say "manisnya", but it's most commonly used for describing taste. But like you can use it to describe the personality, it's not grammatically wrong, people would still understand & it's not weird. Except maybe not just by itself, you have to explain what's so sweet like "manisnya awak ni" which is "you're so sweet". Bcs if you just go by the word "manis", I think the first thing that would come up to a Malaysian's head is about the taste, not the personality. They might go like "oh yeah this drink is so sweet", though in fact you're talking about their personalities.

Actually the word "YamSeng" has nothing to do with alcohol. If we direct translate the word means "drink and win". That's why Chinese cheer each other with this word. Just that usually during celebrations, alcohol is a common beverage. That's not wrong we "YamSeng" with other beverages like tea, soft drinks and even just water.

I think i know why Isaac doesn't know what is " so sweet" in Malay because we dont have the exact expression to describe that. Since sweet is Manis in Malay,but it is used more to describe taste. I think the most similar to express so sweet in Malay would be " alahai..."
