Sometimes people are just too poor to help animals. If you are having trouble feeding your own kids, how can you help a stay cat? They could have taken it to a shelter, but people don't always think that clearly or have transportation. That's how things were when I was a kid. This brings a tear to my eye. About a year ago, I adopted a kitten in virtually the same manner. She was abandoned by her mother and laying under a tree in my parent’s front yard with an eye infection that covered both of her eyes. We thought she was completely blind. We then put her in a box and took her to the closest animal shelter for treatment. Roughly a month later, I got a call from that same animal shelter that she was healed and ready for adoption. They named her cherry wheat which is my favorite beer so I thought it was destiny (little did I know that the box I put her in when I rescued her was a sam adam’s cherry wheat box). Fast forward one year, both of her eyes are almost completely healed (the one is a little glossed over) and we adopted her. I have never made a better decision in my life. I love that cat more than I ever thought I could love an animal.

In some countries these strays are seen as equal to garbage which is absolutely fucking horrible. Folks there are egoistic and then shoe the slightest sense of compassion for animals. I really love this. What a precious baby. Made me cry! My daughter brought me two tiny kittens who could barely breathe and their eyes were glued shut. I rushed them to my vet. They had bad respiratory infections and their poor little eyes! The vet gave me two medications. I did have to take one back to the vet because he wasn't doing as well as his brother. He got an injection and that helped immensely. I had to feed them kitten milk from a dropper for the first week because they wouldn't eat or drink. They are doing great now! They have grown a lot! I named them Harper and Cooper. They are my big, happy boys now! They run around the house and love to cuddle. I wish I could share before and after photos.

I’ve rehomed several dumped kittens over the years. It makes my blood boil knowing how cruel people can be to abandon a kitten that most likely won’t survive. Out of our 3 cats, 1 was dumped at my work so I took him home, the other 2 were strays at my partners work so she brought them home. All 3 are happy and healthy 3 years later.

Some people don't like animals. (me) We don't see a sick cat, we see another feral nuisance making irritating noise. Wild animals abandon their young all the time. If a mother hen has a chick that isn't eating she leaves it there to die. What about these pet "owners" that get tired of their pets and throw them out. I see this problem even here in Canada. It's such a heartbreaking example of how people have lost respect for life. I cannot take in a cat due to my circumstances, or I'd have 2 of them. The best I can do is help them through other means. All living things are creations of God and deserve love and respect, whether a person, a kitten, or even a flower. My heart cries when I think of the pain God must feel when He sees how terribly we treat any of His beautiful living creations.

Always when i see a kitten on street i usually help it or take it home. Parents tell me to not touch it beacuse they think that feral cats are "dirty and sick"...But that's it. I know. A few times I would leave my apartment if I heard a cat crying out, trying to find it. One of my favorite anime characters, Deedlit from Record of Lodoss War, made a comment to the then starting out hero, Parn when he was about to hack off the limb of a tree, that all ives matter, even an worm's. That sticks with me even with the most smallest beings that we would consider pests and worthy of smashing with a fly swatter. Each and every living creature has a reason to be here, a life to live out, and a story to tell. If we callously snuff it out or ignore it when it is in need, then how much could happen to us when we are in need?
