I’ve wondered this before too but there is actually a good reason in some cases. If you are in a situation where it’s a hand to hand fight and you hurt someone or even blinded them, they are going to lash out against you with full force. This is especially bad if your attacker is bigger and stronger than you so it’s often better to run away than risk the fight not going the way you intended.

Munchausen by proxy is when a care taker makes his/her child or someone else under their care to seem to be seriously sick so that the caregiver gets attention. Usually, it's a mother and child; the mother makes the child seem seriously sick and sometimes brings the child to the brink of death only to rush in and save the child. People see this and tell the mother how brave she is to be able to shoulder the burden of a child who is sick with some unknown condition. They tell her how lucky that child is to have such a caring mother to save him/her.

Thank you for this review. I was so intrigued that I watched the movie. Knowing exactly what the plot twist would be, I enjoyed looking at the clues throughout. All the men that enter Ellen's room seem strangely similar, and the location of the apartment looks vague like it could be any street in the world. It was all intentional and very clever. I've never seen a movie like this, where we see what a blind character assumes they are seeing, and then it changes accordingly. Fantastic idea!

Proofs that Ellen is still in the Clayton's place. 1) Clayton's sister says their only way to escape is the vent, which Ellen then finds to be too small. "By accident" she finds the substance which blinded her and uses it on Clayton. Too many coincedences. Then the sister somehow just opens a door and lets her out. 2) Clayton told Ellen he wanted her to play violin, but she wouldn't do it after knowing what he did. He made her believe she escaped. 3) The sister told Ellen she had helped her brother to abduct her. Then why would she help her escape? 4) We don't see anything in Ellen's life after hes escape. That's the biggest tell she didn't escape. I will watch the whole movie and if I don't forget I'll update this comment

Ahhh one of the ones I’ve actually seen! This one is good! I’m always surprised and the movies he does that I HAVENT seen cause I do watch a decent amount of movies lol. And the sci-fi genre he usually does is my favorite What confused me about this movie is that at one point Clayton asked her if he could bring her outside for a walk. And she says no but.. you see when she escapes that the place she’s in is pretty big.. so you wonder how he would have taken her outside. Or was he just gonna walk her around INSIDE and tell her she was outside? But I feel like even a blind person would be able to tell if they were in or outside

The plot was pretty easy to figure out with that title lol. What surprised me was how the hell did the criminal do different voices for the different characters. She would have figured it out as soon as the second character is introduced because the voices (even if you try very hard change) would have speech patterns that any1 can pick up on.

People with rapidly failing vision often develop what is called Charle's Bonnet Syndrome. Legitimate phenomenon. Hallucinations without psychosis, because the brain can't accept that it's suddenly going blind. It imagines what it should be seeing. If the sufferer gets close enough to the stimulus to see what it actually is, the hallucination stops.

@horrormovielover6725
@horrormovielover6725 2 жыл бұрын
It's more realistic than not. And if you are unlucky,that would be turned against you in accordance to law depends on which state the incident occured. It'S not BS. In real life, it's hard to find news about victims who got their assailant killed. Victims barely survive attacks with or without a fight. That's the truth. And even if this character went to different direction and killed him, that would also be a cliche as there are many movies like that already. Kill or not--- still cliche based on how you defined it. So that's a shallow reason not to watch a movie.

I thought that the ending may be pointing to the idea that Clayton didn't actually let her escape 🤨 and she just got trapped in another building but thinks she is safe until I thought: 1. Unless Clayton had a giant master plan to become blinded just to give her a fake sense of safety so that he can prevent any future escapes, I doubt that a suddenly blind dude can actually control the whole world-faking so well. The fact that his downfall is caused by his very first villainous/antagonizing action being applied on himself was probably a detail left by the writer(s)/director(s) as a way to end the movie with a sweet and satisfying irony. 😎 And 2. Seeing how perceptive she is and taking into account she might end up being hella paranoid/traumatized from the whole ordeal, they'd need a whole IKEA worth of fake-world-simulation gear and scenery for her not to find out. Seeing the exit as a huge source of light might be off-putting and might activate your doubtful 🧐 side, but it fits into the idea that we see everything from her perspective. Freedom and a world of possibilities yet to be discovered make sense as a bright light at the end of the tunnel, doesn't it? And seeing her playing in front of a crowd months later.. You're allowed to overthink it, but I'm pretty sure it's just a way to reinforce that she is doing well now and leave the audience with satisfaction on their tummy. 😌
