Battlefield! The first song by the Blind Guardian that I ever heard and by far their best masterpiece!

@ben020hk These layers are one reason why they never play it live. I didn't realize that before I made the video... but then it drove me insane! I've been working on this video for two days and about 100 times I had to stop and do something else for a while. And when it was ready at last, it was blocked in most countries... Still, the lyrics are good, as usually when Hansi writes them.

I'm not entirely sure that I see as to why this song would be blocked in most countries. Could you elaborate? I am curious as to why they would do such a thing to this awesome song.

@ben020hk Hard to hear the lyrics ? Maybe it's just me, but... this is a music/song... I listen to the thing as a whole, a series of sounds (quite epic sounds). So the ''lyrics'' are more like a part of those sounds, for me at least.

You're right. The song mentions the "Lionhearted", that is probably related to the english king Richard The Lionhearted, who fought against the muslims in the third Crusade.

To quote the video's description: "Battlefield is about the Lay of Hildebrand, one of the earliest literary works in German from the 9th century. It tells of the tragic encounter in battle between Hadubrand and his unrecognized father Hildebrand."

The Crusades crossed my mind too. This song sounds like a plea from dying Christian soldiers to God begging that they'll be in Heaven when they die.
