working at a small Vietnamese restaurant in Louisiana, a guy came in and told me he had $7 to buy something to eat and asked if he could afford anything to eat there and I said yes, and he told me that I reminded him of the bee girl in this video and it made my whole day. when I brought him the food I could tell he hadn’t had hot food in quite some time. I played this song for him over the speaker and it made him so happy. He ended up telling me he was chronically homeless after serving in the military and that this song reminded him of better times. I hope you’re doing okay man, wherever you are. I wish you many warm bowls of Pho and plenty more jam sessions

This song will always hold a special place in my heart. This was the ringtone on my daughter's phone. It was her theme song as she battled cancer from the age of 14. She passed at 20 and this song seems to play at very special times. A few years after her passing I was helping her favorite pediatric nurse to buy a car. At the moment we closed the deal and shook hands with the salesman, that opening riff played on the dealership's sound system. I just looked at the nurse and said "Jen approves"

I saw Blind Melon opening for Lenny Kravitz in Paris in 1993...and Shannon Hoon's energy was so atomic that he blew Lenny right off the stage. The Blind Melon set rocked the house so hard, then Lenny came out all cool and jazzy and he was already outshined by his opening act. I remember thinking at the time that there's no way anyone can blast that hard and that Shannon wouldn't live very long.

I've always loved the part where "Bee Girl"/Heather DeLoach finds all of the other Bee Folks. That look of excitement as she looks through the gate and sees them all there doing their happy Bee dances and just frolicking, that always makes me smile!

Always thought this song was from the 60s/70s because of the vibe, but it does have that 90s edge to it. Bands like REM and even Alice in Chains had similar sounds, so I don't know why I never made the connection, nor had I even heard about Blind Melon until recently. Damn shame considering how talented they are.

We feel like we don't fit in because this world is run by the beast, and we have all been trained to follow. Once you realize that, you can let go of the things that were not meant to be. You then, will realize you've fit all along. We were meant to be in this world, not of this world.
@cheeseballs95793 жыл бұрын
This song isn’t actually about fitting in. You might see it that way which is why music is so powerful but it was actually written about not having the motivation or drive to get out of bed and go outside. Not scared to go outside bc you don’t fit in more of just no motivation at all and just living a basic live of watching the puddles gather rain

No Rain Blind Melon Oh, oh, oh, oh Oh, oh, oh, oh All I can say is that my life is pretty plain I like watching the puddles gather rain And all I can do Is just pour some tea for two And speak my point of view But it's not sane It's not sane I just want someone to say to me Oh, oh, oh, oh I'll always be there when you wake, yeah, yeah You know I'd like to keep my cheeks dry today, hey So stay with me and I'll have it made (I'll have it made) And I don't understand why I sleep all day And I start to complain that there's no rain And all I can do is read a book to stay awake And it rips my life away, but it's a great escape Escape Escape Escape All I can say is that my life is pretty plain You don't like my point of view and I'm insane It's not sane It's not sane I just want someone to say to me Oh, oh, oh, oh I'll always be there when you wake, yeah, yeah You know I'd like to keep my cheeks dry today, hey So stay with me and I'll have it made I'll have it made (I'll have it made) And I'll have it made (I'll have it made) Oh no, no You know we're really gonna Really gonna have it made You know we'll have it made
