working at a small Vietnamese restaurant in Louisiana, a guy came in and told me he had $7 to buy something to eat and asked if he could afford anything to eat there and I said yes, and he told me that I reminded him of the bee girl in this video and it made my whole day. when I brought him the food I could tell he hadn’t had hot food in quite some time. I played this song for him over the speaker and it made him so happy. He ended up telling me he was chronically homeless after serving in the military and that this song reminded him of better times. I hope you’re doing okay man, wherever you are. I wish you many warm bowls of Pho and plenty more jam sessions

This song will always hold a special place in my heart. This was the ringtone on my daughter's phone. It was her theme song as she battled cancer from the age of 14. She passed at 20 and this song seems to play at very special times. A few years after her passing I was helping her favorite pediatric nurse to buy a car. At the moment we closed the deal and shook hands with the salesman, that opening riff played on the dealership's sound system. I just looked at the nurse and said "Jen approves"

I just came back here for the millionth time after listening to send me on my way for the millionth time. I hear these two songs and think of my favorite band Pearl Jam and will honestly say 90s rock>60s rock. I love my classic rock too and Pink Floyd created arguably some of the best music ever, along with zeppelin and the doors and the animals and more, but I still say the 90s music was better and some of it apparently timeless as well. Who knew at the time this little catchy song no rain or send me on my way was actually everlasting?

Lol what? What an absolute load of nonsense. It wasn't like that at all, not even _remotely_ - did you somehow forget that other countries exist? You really think people in Burkina Faso or Mongolia were listening to Blind Melon in the 90s? This trendy nostalgia obsession is so infantile, it's like you think 90s U.S. rock music videos somehow represented the way the world actually was, which is unbelievably simple-minded. "The 90s", just like every other arbitrarily-defined decade means such disparate things to each individual person that it's essentially meaningless - all that happened was the Earth revolving around the sun 10 times combined with our entirely made-up dating system - as if 1980 was somehow _innately_ different to 1979 just because the artificially-designated decade changed.
@zonesquestiloveunderworld
@zonesquestiloveunderworld 2 ай бұрын
@@0Nafod0lol Exactly, these nostalgia-addled fools have absolutely no clue what they're talking about. The 90s was really no different from any other decade except in largely superficial terms like what music genres and fashion styles were popular, and what was popular depended entirely upon location - and even then, there's always a subset of people who have zero interest in "what's popular" and find their own artistic niche. But in the end, it's all just pop culture; none of it had any bearing on day-to-day life except for the most shallow, image-obsessed people - which is probably why current youngsters are obsessed with this completely artificial representation of what "the 90s' was like - which only ever existed in music videos, never the real world.

The 90's were WAY more pure and innocent than some believe and have commented here. They didn't suck for us 80's kids. We didn't have technology like the Internet to teach us way more than we needed to know as teens. We just had each other and music from MTV and, trust me, that was more than plenty of the outside influences we needed to manage to find ourselves in some trouble! Now, the info is everywhere and my children's generation are "junkies" of a different kind. The innocence is lost and it's going faster and faster all of the time. I still remember listening to this song as a preteen and loving it, the melody and all- even though I never really *listened* to the words to gain even an ounce of understanding as to what the lead singer of this band was going through but I hear it now and WISH someone would've listened back then and *saved* him. R.I.P. And know that the whole world will always be able to hear your song and hopefully learn from your words by reaching out.

Letra - Letter - Lyric Oh, oh, oh, oh Oh, oh, oh, oh All I can say is that my life is pretty plain I like watching the puddles gather rain And all I can do Is just pour some tea for two And speak my point of view But it's not sane It's not sane I just want someone to say to me Oh, oh, oh, oh I'll always be there when you wake, yeah, yeah You know I'd like to keep my cheeks dry today, hey So stay with me and I'll have it made (I'll have it made) And I don't understand why I sleep all day And I start to complain that there's no rain And all I can do is read a book to stay awake And it rips my life away, but it's a great escape Escape Escape Escape All I can say is that my life is pretty plain You don't like my point of view and I'm insane It's not sane It's not sane I just want someone to say to me Oh, oh, oh, oh I'll always be there when you wake, yeah, yeah You know I'd like to keep my cheeks dry today, hey So stay with me and I'll have it made I'll have it made (I'll have it made) And I'll have it made (I'll have it made) Oh no, no You know we're really gonna Really gonna have it made You know we'll have it made

What does it mean to be "rejected"? If we have joy, surely sadness will reject us. But if we have enough joy, and other weapons, we can break through the sadness that is holding others down... About six years ago a new girl walked into our office and we have a radio that’s always on, and while showing her around, this song came on, and I have a bad habit of just freezing on the spot when I hear a song I love… and then we both started to sing along to it, every word… And Im like, have you seen the Woodstock 94 version? and she’s like of course I have. I was so impressed with this new person…over time when we discussed our past it seemed like we had gone to all the same concerts and festivals in the 90s… she’s like, I was in the front row of the pumpkins in 98 and I’m like, so was I man! We now live together and we spend way too much time on the lounge watching grunge music videos on KZbin on tv but it all started with this song six years ago

I saw Blind Melon opening for Lenny Kravitz in Paris in 1993...and Shannon Hoon's energy was so atomic that he blew Lenny right off the stage. The Blind Melon set rocked the house so hard, then Lenny came out all cool and jazzy and he was already outshined by his opening act. I remember thinking at the time that there's no way anyone can blast that hard and that Shannon wouldn't live very long.

My dad passed away unexpectedly from simple pneumonia a couple weeks ago, I was randomly jamming to my rock playlist while I played Forza horizon 5 and suddenly this song came on and it damn near through me into a temporary catatonic state as I just remembered so many memories I never knew I had of me chilling as a kid in the back seat of my dads old GMC pickup as this song would come on the radio on Q107 so often, so many different memories of the car and this song and him. Amazing times I never knew I wanted to remember until I found this song again, thank you Blind Melon for the nostalgia; I keep it close to my heart

So sorry for your loss homie, I truly am. My Dad is my best friend, and he is getting up there in age these days so I try to cherish the time we have left I too grew up in the 80’s/90s and this song just has an amazing connection to that time. And funny enough, I would hear it on Q107 as well! I grew up in Niagara Falls area. Wish you all the best, I know it’s gonna be tough for a while. But hopefully you have other people and family that you can share memories of your Father with

@@Day-ZDuke Hey man love your message, thank you. My dad was my Best Friend too, he taught me what it's like to be a man, and how to be a man people can rely on. Cherish those memories with him cuz lemme tell you, one day the potential to create more will be gone a lot more suddenly than you could ever expect. I kept telling myself "ehhhh, I'll find moments to make up for it" then one day he got pneumonia being a heavy smoker his whole life and bam, within 3 days he was gone. whatever small moments you can procure, do so, cuz in the end it's only for your own benefit and trust me without doing so might just hurt you enough to do something stupid.

Underrated? They weren't underrated when this came out, this was on full rotation even here in Europe. They were up and coming and pretty massive at that point. Overdosing then did it's thing...anything after this vocalist just was smack dab in the middle but not exceptional, unfortunately.
