Great reveal guys - Favorite part was Jeff taking his hat off for the Harper reveal. Can see the anxiety growing...Hat backwards, breathing heavies. The raw collecting feel to your channel is why you are one of my favorite channels. KEEP IT UP boys

Always fun to watch these reveals. I know the roller coaster of emotions so I’m able to empathize when the tough grades are given, but also celebrate the pure joy of getting a 10. I love getting orders back from PSA!
@Blabbin_Bout_Slabbin2 ай бұрын
It’s really fun, right?! There’s something about commiserating/celebrating with viewers that makes it more exciting! Now we need more cards to sub!

I use a garden shear/hedge clipper to trim my way around the edges. Going slowly around the slab with the sharp, thin blade works great for me; albeit with nervous sweats. Or you could just put the slab in the freezer to make it harder and less flexible.
@Blabbin_Bout_Slabbin2 ай бұрын
I've definitely used the freezer trick, though not sure it helped all that much on the rubbery slabs. And I've tried shears to no avail, but not sure about this hedge clipper -- is it electric? And it actually cuts through the gummy plastic slabs instead of just sinking into it?

That was awful that the Freddie Atomic Refractor graded a 7. Not one card graded higher….brutal.
@Blabbin_Bout_Slabbin2 ай бұрын
That one hurt. Set a bad tone. Had us terrified for the rest of the sub! Still a beautiful card. Just trapped in that slab.

I use my dremel and a cutting wheel to open the new PSA slabs. If you cut off the top and one of the sides they literally pop right open. It just makes a mess because the slab literally melts lol. I’ve taken a break from PSA. I’ve graded thousands of cards over the years so most of my orders are accurate to my estimates. However, recently I’ve noticed that the cards coming back to me from their NY office are being graded 1-2 full grades lower than my estimates. My theory: they’ve hired a bunch of new and inexperienced graders to handle their volume and are telling them to be conservative their they grades.
@Blabbin_Bout_Slabbin2 ай бұрын
Melted slabs!? Sounds scary 😂. PSA is anything but consistent these days, so completely understand the break

never have had luck with the atomic or the mojo refractors either. I almost think the designs are so busy some of the less experienced graders think they see something that really isn't there.

The 2012 freeman gold is exactly why I don’t use PSA. inconsistent grading somehow equals higher price demand?
@Blabbin_Bout_Slabbin2 ай бұрын
I get it, it can be extremely frustrating, the inconsistency. But the resale premium remains there. Definitely a game, and you can choose to play or pass 🤷🏻♂️
