The only bad thing about that short is that we never see Ray again. Not that I'm aware, anyway. I we don't see her feeding him, or holding him, or anything. Not even in a terrarium in the background.

In the first short, I think there's a musical reference to Find a Pet. Those strings that play when they enter the shelter mimic the first verse, and are in the same key.

Charles 7 I don’t think it’s high class; quite the opposite really. It’s pretty small and a lot of her stuff looks kind of beat up compared to Twilight, who is clearly well off. She came into the world without any support or status so she’s had to work to get what she has. This adds a lot to her characters in my opinion.

First time we've seen Sunset's home, which is really cool. Hope we see more of it in the future; and I wasn't expecting that as a pet for Sunset, figured she'd get something furry like a cat or dog (Although we have Opal and Spike, but still; maybe a parrot or something?). Wasn't expecting that kind of animal, but still pretty cool to see her get one. And poor Celestia, would have loved to see her teach a class in the human world. Some nice shorts, great reaction and can't wait for more! XD.

Is it weird that Sunset specifically NOT wanted a furry creature as a pet? (Being herself a natural unicorn), while she still asked for one that she could touch and carry with her. . Since her mentor Princess Celestia had a phoenix, I was expecting something like Owlowiscious; but a reptile is much better since it would not trigger her emphatic geode ability [lizards do not have the whole range of deep complex emotions of a mammal or the inteligence of a bird].

14:10 I think the name of the town they're in is actually Canterlot because if I remember correctly, I'm pretty sure Fluttershy said "Canterlot's animal shelter needs help" back in EQG 1 then, in Dance Magic, an announcer said something about Canterlot's dance competition. Also, it's common for a high school to be named after the city it's in.

Sunset getting a leopard gecko is weird but interesting. They're nocturnal, so as such only come out after sunset. Interesting idea there, if that's what they were going for.

. She was rather sleepy at sunrise in the "Monday Blues" short. . She spent a whole night meditating/singing in "My Past is not Today". . She choose to sneak and steal at night back in EQG1. -> I think she is a "Night Owl"; even her own name calls for the night to come.

Huh. That's actually an interesting thing I never considered. It makes sense. Though it is rather interesting too that in Monday Blues her massive window is facing towards the sunrise, not the sunset. Could read a few things into that. Perhaps she likes watching the sunrise if she's up for it, or maybe she wants it to be, in a weird way, Celestia who wakes her up. Or it was the only flat an extra-dimensional pastel coloured unicorn could afford on a budget. These shorts are really fun to look at in that respect.

The rest of the series, you never see Sunset interacting with him: holding him, feeding him, playing with him, you name it. I don't think he shows up in the background as a cameo at all.

My god Sunset is so damn cute. Odd to see her old jacket with Sci-Twi around. You know, I was really thinking Sunset herself was going to get Owlicious, cute little Gecko though. Wonder if this blows up the idea that Philomena was Sunset's spike or not. She doesn't say she never had one before, just that she wouldn't know what to pick. Well if the parallels hold between the two to worlds, I think we know why Twilight is the one who seems to always fix things, poor Celestia is being run ragged by everything ELSE that the one thing that she WANTS to do, she ends up just leaving Twilight in charge of... I feel so sorry for both Tia's after this short. Love Sunset's hoody. And she has come so far, stopping to pet that cat is something that old Sunset would never have done. Flutters' hair is a literal bird's nest! (well at least it has one in it) And I think I want a pair of AJ's slippers, they look really comfy. So Sunset has at least a loft apartment, though the floor layout and that big window really seems like she has the whole house. Nifty to see how everything seems used and damn is Sci-Twi's house a big one! I knew her family was loaded because she was going to Crystal Prep and all but wow. Damn, just how far away does Sunset live from school? If she makes that run every day she should be able to give AJ and Rainbow a run for their money. I'm hoping she missed her bus like Twi did, but her stop at the coffee shop from breakfast doesn't point to that. Think Pinky was just having bad case of the mondays, her hair poofed right back up once she got happy due to Rainbow's entrance and AJ's slippers showing at all of them were in the same boat. But wow, Rarity! Rollers still in her hair, makeup a mess and her clothes all wet. Yeah, she was having an even worse day than Twi and Sunset, I'm blaming Sweetie, mostly because we didn't see her so she can't defend herself.

Most people I've seen refer to the city as Canterlot City and when googled the EQG city pops up. Besides I think it fits. Also in the Monday Blues music video when Sunset looks at her reflection, above the cactus in that scene is a bottle that is in fact based on a real product. It's a real life shampoo and conditioner product called Mane 'n Tail (Product description: The original horse to human crossover.) and was intentional. It's funny because Sunset is a pony turned human using horse based hair products. As for Sunset's pet, I want one!

It seems like it was some sort of warehouse she modified with X-Mas lights and external plumbing (no need of a separate bathroom for a unicorn). It explains how she managed to rent it (cheap) as a teenager without a proper ID. -> It has no kitchen either since she usually eats on the same place than that deleted scene of Friendship Games of her and Princess Twilight (the mini-fridge probably has just juice and fruits for the night, the microwave for making tea or heating a pizza).

fun fact geckos can curl thier toes backwards. its how they climb. thier toes are sutions like a suction cup but a different shape and thier toes curl back toe peel away from the surface while they climb
