In Kamen rider series, it prefers real-time transformation than having a different background while transform Sometimes kamen rider will be stopped during transformation (failed to transform) or use their transformation effect to stop enemy's attack, thats why real-time transformation is often used

The important thing to keep in mind is that they are not allowed to set off pyrotechnics in places like a city street or a roof top else they risk damaging government property, so it's either only ever have the hero destroy monsters in rock quarries and empty warehouses in order to have a satisfying explosion, (and trust me, while watching Stronger I got really tired of seeing the same quarry every episode), or have digital explosions of varying quality.

He happens to be immune to their effects so they end up helping him fight the others, taking over as the dominant personality. One of the imagine(evil genie) has the personality of a punk/wanna be gangsta. Also time travel is involved

- In Kamen Rider Blade, the explosions are actually more contained as the monsters need to stay alive for the Riders to absorb them. - In Kamen Rider Hibiki, monsters are only defeated with pure sounds, and the riders' weapons produce these pure sounds, they are all instruments. - In Kamen Rider Den-O he gets more confident because when he goes to red form, he is possessed by one of the monsters in the series, so the guy gives up his body so the monster can fight. - In Kamen Rider Build, the Rabbit and the Tank have special meaning for some characters in the series, it doesn't make sense when you first look at it, but in the context of the series it makes sense for the rabbit and the tank to be a "Best Match"

@@chungdepgiai I mean, part of it too is that theres only so much money and time to go around and a lot of the people that work on Kamen rider's effects also likely work on Super sentai and others. Good effects takes lots of time, effort, and money. And when you have 50 something episodes a show there's not a lot of time and money to go around for these effects. Especially when you have to balance between the transformations, the attacks, any kinds of explosions, debris, and any backgrounds on top of the continued use of CG characters and vehicles in these series

For the record, the transformation they showed for Ryuki wasn't the usual one. It was just him getting the dragon's power. The usual transformation has images of his suit being overlaid on top of him, as they flip into view.

The reason for the three different transformations for the first Kamen Rider is because in the initial episodes, it was a bit more low budget, this the simple footage change. In the show, he could original only transform once he got enough wing energy, kind of like a turbine. Now, the actor that played Ichigo did his own stunts during the first couple of episodes until an accident forced him to go to the hospital. This lead the show to temporarily have the character on hiatus by saying he's fight the villains abroad. When he came back, they have him a new outfit to symbolize how much stronger he's become, being able to transform without the need for wind. And the third form was after the villain group tried to upgrade and hypnotize him a second time, but failed again since he practice a self-hypnosis.

In cyborg 009 the main villain is a direct adaptation of shotaro ishinomori's first ever super hero named skull man and yes that same shotaro ishinomori is the dude who created kamen rider and super sentai and yes he had some hand in cyborg 009 plus a few other hidden gems of anime.

For Ex-Aid, the suits look odd because they're meant to invoke video game characters. The 'messed up transformation' was their Level 1 form, which is suited to dealing with the CG monsters, while the suit monsters get the Level 2 forms to fight. Each of the first 5 riders get the Level 1 form, but it eventually got phased out alongside the CG monsters as the stakes got higher. Then the finale arc brought it roaring back into relevance to help deal with a major threat.

I have two points I would like to make for this video, otherwise a nice reaction video. 1. There's a fair complaint on how the CGI is in the earlier ones and I'm not arguing for it or anything since it depends on how individuals view it but I would very much prefer you to look past it and see the design of transformation poses and their finisher style. For example, Ryuki dragon kick. I personally find it creative with good pose and dragon breath to engulf the kick in flames. But you were too hung up on bad CGI and didn't comment on its design at all. 2. This second point is not on the reaction but the video used, a lot of the footage used their literal first transformation and I find most of them not being able to represent what their transformation looks like in the majority of the series episodes. Like how Ryuki again forms a contract with the dragon, that only happens in the first episode. And how Kuuga kinda accidentally uses his kick finisher. Basically, there is better footage to represent transformation and finisher for some of the riders shown here.

It is a sad fact that Toei (the company that makes Kamen Rider and Super Sentai) has been mistreating their CGI animators for years, with stuff like not updating their salary as much as they should, or increasing the amount of deadlines they have to meet while decreasing the times between each one, the results is what you see, CGI that leaves much to be desired or looks pretty bad, it happens in Super Sentai too, while you have on another spectrum, Tsuburaya's Ultraman franchise, that has maintained and upgraded a really good level of CGI and special effects over the years and into the newest seasons

The showa riders used the hand movement to trigger the transformation as they all are cyborgs (Amazon is ancient magic) except after Black which are bio mutants, the sequences of poses unlocks/activates the transformation. Most of the Heisei and Reiwa riders transformation are based on the belt itself, they are poses but its all individual styles.

Originally, Kamen Rider didn't have transformation pose. The first Rider (Kamen Rider 1) only needs wind to transform and usually transform during riding his bike. But after the Rider 1's actor got injured, they have to created another character to replaced him for a while as Kamen Rider 2. However the Rider 2's actor didn't have motorcycle license yet, so they have to created another way to transform for him.

as for the questions regarding that design change over the year and he started noticing the improvement on the quality of the plastics is that they started to use 3D print to be of use in some ways for the fittings starting from KR build i believe. i saw in some documentary years ago even tho its not used directly but they managed to make the design they way they want with the help of it.

The lack of context hurts you but also You're not seeing the real experience because it's only the First transformations. It's Natural that when most of these guys just got their powers they didn't know what they were doing but many of those scenes were also drawn out in the first episode. Try looking up Kamen Rider Ryuki all henshin and finishers and you will see a big difference. (I choose Ryuki for it's variety but that's beside the point.)

Kuuga's first mighty form henshin was actually redone with better effects in a special edition compilation movie of the first 2 episodes of kuuga. It's less of a cg model replacement and more of a static image overlay. It's not great but its alot less off putting

It’s because most of the suits have to be put on by a stunt man and performed with so do you have to be designed with performance in mind. So if you have a massive clunky suit, you could easily be damaged and ruin the scene and most of the suits are extremely detailed, so it would be obvious if it was repaired.

Amazon was pretty mature for a kid show for that time since it's really show much blood and gorey stuff in the series maybe that's why you getting horror vibe from it. also they decided to keep the tone of the mature and gorey stuff for the spin off reboot series in 2016 which they step up the element alot.

Yeah I think some of the Riders need some checkout: BLACK doesn't have the "mutation to grasshopper" sequence, Shin only gets the end of the body horror scene, Agito has the "unseen" transformation ongoing, Ryuki doesn't have his usual one, Hibiki is also "unseen", Den-O doesn't show Momotaros taking possession of Ryotaro, and Zi-O have Geiz with him

I will explain a little about Kamen Rider. what you react to is the primary rider who is the main rider in the series in the kamen rider series.. usually there is more than 1 kamen rider.. it can be 2, 3, or 14 riders.. but what is highlighted in the series is only 4 riders.. main rider, second rider, third rider, and four rider.. and usually in the series.. the main rider and second rider are the most influential in the story.. the others are the supporting riders (this can vary in how many series the riders are, but from the whole series.. the main and second riders have the most influential role) the form itself consists of how many form the rider for the tier form like this (form the weakest to the strongest) -base form -upgrade from -super form -final from -Extra from (for this form it depends on the form itself.. because this form appears in the movie not in the series.. so for this form it's still confusing) and one more thing.. in the series, kamen rider also has an evil version of kamen rider.. usually as an enemy that is comparable to the main rider who is usually called the dark rider

While I love it and it's my top 3 show wise, when that design first got leaked, I don't think there was a single person on the entire internet that liked it.
