Take 4-5 vanilla beans, split them down the middle, then throw them in a quart of vodka. That's how you make vanilla extract. Easiest thing ever.

In Utah if you go to SMITH'S grocery store, they have the "Private Selection" brand (In the black tub). All of their flavors are delicious, but I like their DOUBLE VANILLA (not Vanilla Bean or French Vanilla) more than any other brand of vanilla ice cream. It just tastes really high-quality 🥰🥰 Smith's grocery stores are also in New Mexico, Nevada, Arizona, Idaho, Wyoming and Montana

Tillamook is a small coastal town in Oregon. And there are a lot of dairy farms in the area. Imo umpqua is far superior!

I know what Farr ice cream is and have had it. I live in Sacramento, CA, but lived most of my life in SLC, UT. Also vanilla extract, if not synthetic is made from alcohol (vodka, tequila) and vanilla beans.

Here is a treat for people who drink vodka. Have you ever had a strawberry caboose? Mix vanilla ice cream with Barq's red cream soda and vodka. It is so good. I haven't had any in years (last time was in my twenties, made it for my birthday party). Good for after children go to bed. I don't drink any alcohol now. Sending hugs. This was fun. Take care! 🤗 🤟

Breyers and Häagen-Dazs are my favorite brands for vanilla ice-cream. My all time favorite that I can't even get anymore was a raspberry cheesecake ice-cream from Crumbl Cookies. That was SO GOOD and it's so upsetting they don't sell it anymore.

Tillamook is a local dairy here in Tillamook Bay oregon on the coast. You can tour the factory. They do cheese also. That's what they started with. And their ice cream is good. But you need the local flavors like oregon strawberry, Marionberry which is a local berry that is larger and sweeter than a blackberry.

I wish you guys had Turkey Hill products there. We have them exclusively at Kroger and they make good ice cream at a very good price point too! They also sell lemonade, sweet tea, & flavored teas that taste great. I think their lemonade is on par maybe even better than Chick- fila!

HEB's 1905 vanilla is the best in my opinion. Tastes almost exactly like fresh churned ice cream the old fashioned way. Gotta give it a try.😊❤

Vanilla Extract is now made with Vanilla Beans and some form of alcohol, typically a vodka. However, a lot of homemade varieties use a dark one, such as rum, to make a richer extract! I only know this because we're currently making at least 12 bottles of extract right now Lol. (they take a year to make)

If you like cinnamon, try some on your ice cream. I've been asked before 'if you could only have 1 flavor of ice cream for the rest of your life, which would it be?" I always say vanilla because while I like other flavors, you can't do all you can with them, that you can with vanilla. Want chocolate ice cream, add chocolate. Want strawberry, add strawberries,. etc.

As a person who lives in the dairy state (Wisconsin) I am shocked on this assortment of ice cream brands. We have Kemps, Blue Bunny, Ben & Jerrys, Kwik Trip brand, and so much more! If you want really good ice cream go to a farm and they’ll have it fresh. I don’t think I could ever live in a place that doesn’t do dairy like Wisco! Or a place that doesn’t have Kwik Trip 😂
