Noldor is arguably their greatest song.. such an underrated gem of a song (powerballad?!) with it's awesome pre-chorus & chorus and especially the section from 4:24 with that melody in the background!

Two decades of listening to various metal bands, diving into different genres, and even moving away from power metal as my comfort genre - this is still the best album I have ever heard. It's simply incredible how well the atmosphere of the story was conveyed through music. All killer no filler, an absolute masterpiece.

a little story: I once stumbled across Blind Guardian because a friend played a song of them in his car radio, and i looked their songs up on KZbin. I fell in love and you guys are my faourite Band to this day. But because I listened to your songs via KZbin I listened to them in a more random way and not one album at a time. Id say you all know that certain feeling you get when you listen to your favourite BG songs. And I was wondering if that is "just" nostalgia or the melodies creating this certain passionate nice feeling in some people who discover this Band. So one day a few years later i stumbled across Nightall and was shook because somehow i must have missed it when i began to hear BG. And when I listened to that song it prooved to me that Blind Guardian songs ( not all of them but most of them) are truly something special and I loved the song just in the same way i loved the songs I discovered when i was 10 years old. I dont know how you do that, but your melodies ARE something special. Grüße aus Schleswig- Holtstein, Ihr seid die besten :D

Tolkien fan since about 20 years, NiME was my first BG album. The Curse of Feanor was the first song I heard (here on YT). Loved the lyrics and the music so I checked more info on the Band, the album and powermetal. No choice, I must order this album. So I did. Now, many years later, I got all BG albums and discovered many interesting metal band.

Good to hear all the history of this band. Nightfall is an amazing album. Thanks for these interviews. Though they don’t like to dress up they would look cool, not in full suits or medieval armor, but something like Aragorn in his ranger clothes. Long coats and such. They definitely don’t need it tho.

I still have a clear memory in my head of final words of War Of Wrath, and like first 3 bars of Into The Storm. And a slightly more vague memory of the whole song the first time I listened to Nightfall In Middle-Earth. Great memories indeed.

NIME makes me wonder if there's really something more to the world than we see and know. because.. it's hard for me to imagine something this beautiful and deeply touching - from a human standpoint, anyway - can be just made up from random or even purposefully man-made variations of wavelengths and intervals between them. and come out of nowhere, just as a result of some chemical reactions in a human brain. like a genius insight, it must come to being from some place beyond, it just has to

The album which get me in Blind Guardian music (listening to it in 2008) was NIME. It was the part of my life when Tolkien books were the only one I read, again and again, playing also LOTR game from Games Workshop and so on. Still now one of my favourite music album of all time ! Still, I feel like the production, voice mixing were poor at this moment, I will taste the remastered version soon !

During Hansi's praise for Nightfall as his favorite BG album I realized something: this is a guy who's willing to do it for the fans. As most of you know BG toured playing all of Imaginations From The Other side, which of course I went to, and it was fucking awesome. 2018 came and went and we never got a 20th anniversary for Nightfall in Middle Earth (which I would have went to....if I wasn't broke). You'd think Hansi would want to do that given it's his favorite, but I guess it just wasn't possible in their schedule. Point is, props to Hansi for approving a tour doing all of that album even though it isn't his favourite. Slayer fans never got to hear Slayer do all of South of Heaven cos Jeff Hanneman didn't like it. Hansi's the man.
@gringochucha Жыл бұрын
South of Heaven is Slayer's weakest classic album, in my opinion, so no big loss to the world there. As for NIME, I would pay so much money to see them play the whole thing live. The Somewhere Far Beyond show last year was absolutely amazing. Of course it wouldn't be the same without Thomen's drumming, but you can't have everything.
