I grew up during the 80s and of course Blinding Lights brings Take On Me and Young Turks to my mind, but it also brings lots of memories and songs which used same beat, bass line, melody and riffs. This song is a great homage to that music, no doubt about it. But we all should stop criticizing and start enjoying and praising these guys, who play just terrifically well! I hope I hear more of them in the not so distant future, as I’m a 52 years old man who doesn’t know how long we will survive this hard times.

I'll go further, its simply an average reworking of a tremendous song that itself channelled "i ran" and our TDK90 era with brilliant results. There are tons of bands doing this and channelling Chris Martin whilst doing so, at times. Boring.
