Absolutely! It's proven right now! When he started hosting late night TV, he was very unpopular because his style of comedy wasn't what people were used to. Fast forward to the KZbin era and his clips have gone mega-viral, totaling several hundred MILLION views! It's such a cliche, but he truly was way ahead of his time. Conan O'Brien changed comedy forever.

You can tell by how he got progressively more manic that Conan was sublimating the pain and spice into his performance. Pure fucking legend. And Sean’s looks throughout the interview were priceless-especially once Conan started swigging pure sauce. Like, “is Conan O’Brien about to die on my show?”

The Conan skit where he tracks down Sona's mug was actually her first on-screen appearance, and the audience liked her so much he kept doing stuff with her and she became an important part of the show, but now on camera instead of off. Then David Hopping took over from her as assistant, and now HE is featuring more on the podcast.
@GuardianOwl7 ай бұрын
First onscreen on the show, but the first evidence that she would pop on screen was the documentary about his cross country tour between the Tonight Show and Conan pm TBS when he was contractually prevented from being on TV ("Conan O'Brien Can't Stop"). Sona featured prominently in the documentary as their bickering brother-sister dynamic played out on camera.

In my opinion, one of the very best interviewers is Graham Norton. He gets all the big celebrities, and they are mostly gold. I've been a Chilihead since way before hot ones and way before various hot sauce challengs was a thing. One of the things that most viewers likely can't appreciate is that even people that eat wildly hot sauces still burn, still are uncomfortable, still sweat and still suffer as they eat, they suffer later on too. There are pay-offs but the trick with hot sauce is you have to transcend the burn and the ,,,well let's call it agony. I am fairly sure that Conan is not a chilihead but even if he was he would be definately feeling the burn after the 5'th-6'th sauce. What is completely amazing is that he was able to sideline that in the name of the gag. It is truly amazing to watch if you know what's going on in his mouth and to some degree his stomach. That was a masterclass in acting not to mention funny as hell..
