"This Demo was recorded on a 4-Track in Scotty's Room in May 1993 and is available for $5.00." That's freaking awesome to read for some reason. They had no idea what their future would hold. Just doing what they loved and having fun doing it.

The leap in quality between this to Buddha to Cheshire Cat to Dude Ranch in less than 4 years. Enema of the State was recorded only 6 years after this demo…that’s crazy to me.
@bengreenbank5 ай бұрын
Having good production is 50% of it. And getting a much better drummer. Most of the songs on here musically aren't that different to Dude Ranch it's the production that makes a big difference. And you know that because even Longest Line sounds like a crap song when on here when obviously it's a great song when properly recorded.

He doesn’t hit has hard, doesn’t sound as huge playing Scott songs, and couldn’t intensify his performances during songs like Scott did. Scott stylistically isn’t inclined to play technically and show off, but by 20 years old, he’s implied to have a great level of technical proficiency judging by how play all his songs at such intensity and speed without letting up. And I can point to songs like TV, Degenerate, where he gets somewhat Jazzy and Technical in places. Scott wouldn’t play like Travis on his songs, but I wouldn’t doubt he could play them if you were to let him sit down and learn ‘em.

How’d they go from this to Dude Ranch?! Seriously that’s what I’d love to have seen every day and moment of.

They should have re recorded this and made it their first studio album, I like the songs on here it's just the quality of the recording that's really bad.

It is the same time as Buddha! The same year. After the guys at Kung Fu Records heard this demo they picked up Blink (with the inclusion of adding the 182 due to copyright issues with a foreign techno band also named Blink) and let them record their first official record, Buddha, which had an almost identical sound and a few songs off of this album, like "Time" and "Point of View."

Eu acho esse som "arcaico" muito fóda. Não sabia que o som era assim devido a ser o começo da banda, depois descobri que esse era o motivo do som ser assim (achava que o som era assim de forma proposital)

*All songs 1993 except the longest line 1992 and freak scene 1988 (dinosaur junior cover), how genius they r cuz in 1988 tom was in 15 years old (more or less). dunno why but i preefer the oldest blink182 than the new but they still good. I was this last summer in madrid concert and they play the longest line and few ppl in the public knew that song. BLINK182 forever
