I don't understand why people are so upset that Matt doesn't play the songs right. First, their not his songs. Imagine doing something the same for 20+ years and then have to change your technique over night. It's going to take more than a couple years and a few tours to get it down pat. Second, Tom doesn't even play his own songs right 75% of the time live anyways. There have been many shows where tom has pretty much ruined the event by how off he was. Y'all act like this is the first time someone has left a band and was replaced. For obvious reasons Blink will never be the same but since Mark and Travis own rights to their old songs, they will play them. If you don't like how they sound, move on and find a new artist to enjoy.

Tom doesn’t “ruin” any show with his mannerisms and style - *that is what fans love about him and blink.* Nobody ever faults Tom because he shaped the band, and anyone that pays attention to the music before and after Tom, and AvA knows that. Toms Tomisms are what make him and used to make Blink unique. Do you really think Mark woulda gotten far without him? I don’t. The fact is they chose the worst person to replace him. Was there a correct choice? Maybe not, but Matt sounds so lame, and too much like Mark. The golden synergy is lost without Tom.

you need to define what ruins means to you cause I have been listening to blink for a long time studio and live and I have never heard tom "ruin" a song. What off are you talking about? tom plays his songs right and live he improvises sometimes but they sound good, and maybe that's why matt is not a good choice for blink his style is not compatible with blink, though I wouldn't call them blink182 it's more like +44 +matt. and that's why lots of people are moving onto angels and airwaves, though I did give matt a chance with both albums but they are not good and vocally mark and matt sound similar so there is not a difference so it gets kinda bland. with tom you would have a song with just tom singing and another with just mark singing or another with both singing so it kept things changing but since matt and mark sound the same it doesn't matter who sings it will sound the same.

it's a soundcheck. they are just playing thru the songs for the sound guy to adjust the levels. most pro musicians know to conserve their voice at sound check so they are 100% for the real performance later that night.
