This movie is entertaining for some people, but some people this movie really is triggering and I appreciate Zoe Kravitz for keeping it light because this is some peoples actual real life encounters. There was a TRIGGER warning for a reason.

Okay I dont care for this Blink twice movie, but I just finished listening to your Edge of Tomorrow re-Broadcast episode, and I beg you guys to please please! Bring back that intro song, do whatever it takes, make a Patreon goal to buy it back, just bring that intro back to the podcast and it will make the Flimcast pod complete! You guys are awesome, but seriously work to have that intro back, it brings such warmth and joy, I cant explain it but damn we love it!

LOL, I agree but I don't think they need to "buy" it back, the only reason they dropped it is because it the podcast is no longer the "slash filmcast". For a bit after they were no longer associated with "slash film" they were beeping out "slash" in the music which annoyed the hell out of me. It was a really nice musical intro for a podcast and the current one doesn't quite have the same vibe.

I don’t know what this man is talking about. The title is perfect.

While both _Blink Twice_ and _Strange Darling_ are shot beautifully (I saw them as a double feature-owning to their _seemingly_ similar broad themes-2 weekends ago), SD is clearly the far superior film IMO. While its plot is deceptively simple, the strategic nonlinear arrangement of its 6 chapters is both a clever story device and a masterclass on deceptive framing. And the final scene? OMG. Just it by itself is worth the price of admission. BT, like with _Longlegs_, comes off as the director being too impressed with their own technical abilities and forgetting to craft a coherent story.

I respectfully disagree with BJ Colangelo's take on the ending (this amounts to a philosophical and political difference of opinion). There's never been an example of someone successfully changing an oppressive institution from the inside (if someone has an example please offer it)... there are countless examples of people trying to do that and essentially becoming swallowed and becoming an agent of the oppression (for example, every cop who has ever tried this: Check out the excellent "Small Axe" episode starring John Boyega for an example of how this usually plays out). There's no reason to believe Frida is going to actually do anything with her newfound power and status other than help herself, which is fine, but I don't think it's any kind of profound commentary on how we change society or a rebuke of revolution. The character and the movie isn't interested in the latter, and I don't think there's any reason to think Zoe Kravitz is interested in that.

While I'm a huge fan, the Blink Twice review was difficult to get through with the weight of the topic and tenor of conversation from BJ being from such a contentious standpoint.

The film is ok, but I had a hard time caring about the characters when they do dumb things. Slater King is already in trouble when the film starts. He's had to step back from his corporation and do an apology talk show tour, yet these women go off with him to his private island. All the men know each other, but with the exception of Frida and Jess, the women are strangers to one another. They start taking drugs on the first evening. Bad, bad decisions. I think we could have done without the magical flowers and the antidote snake venom. Make them King's employees who want raises and promotions and they are lured to the island with false promises.

When Jeff said this movie was "Fresh" I had to shut it off. You had to miss Don't Worry Darling, Get Out, Infinity Pool, Saltburn, The Menu, and a ton of other movies to think that this was anything less than Arthouse 101 level of self-indulgent filmmaking.

This movie is garbage and the only reason why I went to watch it is the title of this video.
