@@FatSpiderrs Blink have completely ignored their demographic and despite saying they'd bring back the blink we love on the last 2 albums they've become more and more generic each time. Its clear that by experimental they mean doing the easy thing and being generic. I mean the music video for darkside also shows that theyre out of touch with their demographic. Most blink fans are at their youngest late teens now. many blink fans are full adults now yet they make a video with children younger than their own kids, doing fortnite dances. They still write about highschool despite having left decades ago. As much as it had problems its what made neighbourhoods a decent album. It felt like they were actually writing about their current lives instead of constantly drawing back to highschool to appeal to children.

@@hackzter don't get my comment confused for anything negative man, i love all this new stuff. All i meant was moreso, with tom around it was like he steered for more riff/guitar driven songs. Without you get this sort material. I like both sides of the blink coin. Just. I feel tom was never one to want it to be this pop like. Nhoods was probs as close to pop as tom would get.

Mark would present things and even if they were fast (such as rabbit hole, parking lot 6/8) they only became that punkier style when tom added his sound. I feel skibbs doesnt add as much of that as what tom did.

Some people don't like hearing artists and bands evolving. I love all of blink's new music. It's very different from their old music, and that's a good thing. I wouldn't like them as much if they kept remaking Enema of the State. They're older, in different spaces mentally, and I'm sure they don't want to keep remaking old songs as well. Even though I miss Tom being in the band, Matt is extremely talented as well. Blink-182 has been one of my favourite bands ever since I got into music and I'm glad that they're growing musically as I grow as a person.
@BurtonRider902105 жыл бұрын
L. Marquee dude I couldn’t have said it any better. Bands have to evolve along with their own lives. They ain’t 23 anymore (pun intended) lol. They are happy, either ppl like it or don’t. California sounded like old blink, mixed with some new stuff. Amazing summer time album. This album is more experimental and diverse. And it’s also darker, lyric wise and topic wise for each song. People don’t give songs the time of day to sink in. They hear it one time and hate it... I didn’t really like Blame it On My Youth too much, but I kept listening anyway to give it a chance, and now it grew on me & I really like it. Ppl need to simmer down and let it sink in. If u don’t like it, that’s fine, but give it a fighting chance at least.
@ChristopherDennis895 жыл бұрын
Devin Biery the only exception to that was this song for me. One listen and I was hooked. Couldn’t stop thinking about it and began playing it over and over to learn the hooks and the lyrics. Its definently a lot better than their last album, (did the music world really need another fucking album about california?) THe title alone is enough for me to throw it in the trash, I did give it a listen but it seemed pretty much like shit. WIth my low expectations I bought this album and was quite pleasantly surprised, I wouldn't say its as good a neighborhoods but its pretty close. Neighborhoods has a few pretty crappy songs thrown into a pretty epic album while this whole album is pretty great overall, I dont think the best songs on this album hold up to the best songs on neighborhoods if that makes sense. Some of those songs just had that really trippy vibe, while this is kind of polished and nice and everything. Its different, I like both really.
