2:45 i think Na3 was good here tho, but probably as you said Nc3 was a good option to consider, i guess that was your idea, you loose the c2 pawn, but probably win back their senterpawn, kicking their knight of then putting a rook on e1 before they even has casteled. Looks good, that lead in development can be worth a pawn, similar like you know in evans gambit. Anywas after Nh3 they have a problem on f7, i did not see it before too late either, but here, taking pwans and giving priority to development might again be some kind of trade, often lead on development win games prior to win pawns but depend on how much the lead in development actually can give of advantages, i think.😊 30:36 the line you thinking of here was ineteresting to continue.. Rd7+ king go up, Rc7 attacking pawn and knight, the knight go to e7 protects the c6 pawn and is protected by rook, but now you can take a7 pawn. They rook is kind of blocked, you have 2 passers. If they move king again you can go back to c7 with rook, looking the knight to defend the pawn.. they have to invent something or your pawn on a file just go down all alone.

10:11 also interesting to note here. You played Rxg4 pretty fast, fxg4 wins a pawn, but i guess you saw fast that black can play Re2 and could double the piggs at secound, also take the b2 pawn, while white could also sheck on d8 or better probably double on 7th... so both sides can get the piggs. But it looks very risky for white with king out and those loos pawns on queen side. But its not clear for me as the white g pawn also looks dangerous. But i dont think it can queen as long as black controls white king and the b7 pawn.. so it just looks too riky or perhaps even bad. It seems you just know some of this by experience.

You give me too much credit here, I was just confused and played the wrong move. I intended to win the pawn.

Oh the elephant gambit is goofy, FIDE master Philip Corbin played it a lot. The engine recommandation in Nxe5 Bd6 is: d4 dxe4, Bc4 Bxe5, Qh5 intermezzo Qe7 defending, Qxe5 Qxe5 And it ends up being quite similar to the moves played on this first game; with an early queen exchange and a slight advantage to white. It's a very annoying line for the elephant gambit player since it blocks any swashbuckling shenanigans for a quieter game

Nice line, thanks for bringing this interesting line. Yes it seems the line played here is just a transposition of one of the main line then... (0:42) they played Qh5 and Qe7 first. I wonder, when white plays Qh6 first if black can play g6 first(1:07), i dont know if that is good for black, but white queen dont have a lot of squares, probably has to go back to e2. Then black could take night then or perhaps play qe7?
