This is a blitz chess game I played as white with time control 5|2. The opening played was the Queen's Gambit Declined, Orthodox Defense. A quiet middlegame quickly occurs in this one with a couple minor pieces being exchanged. A fairly static structure is present in the center, and each side aims to activate their rooks successfully via a pawn break. White seeks play on the queenside with the typical minority attack, and black seeks plays on the kingside.

I love it when you do a post game analysis of the matches you lose. It gives us some insight on how to get the most mileage out of a lost game. Thanks Jerry!

You should consider playing 9.e4 instead of Nxd5. White has the advantage there. Black should have taken 7.exd instead (of Nxd5). Black's problem piece Bc8 is not yet solved.there. In the game it was solved, because e4 wasn't played, wich is why blacks position is comfortable in the game. Also the extra trade of a pair of knights in the game further helped black, due to his original lack of space.

Bb1 would be an impressive defensive move. Will keep note of something like that.

Jerry Grischuk ... :P the last 5 seconds are more than enough to manage the decisive moments of the game

Hey Jerry(or anyone else who knows..), just what did you miss @11:25 in the video when you played Qxf5? You say something like "4 seconds is not a lot, i have this(referring to Rd8+), and you also have this to defend(motioning for Qg4). I'm curious as to just what did you missed here.. so if you could answer this, it would be much appreciated and imo, would also be a positive educational experience since it allows one to see/accustomize oneself with the thinking/style/strength of someone much higher rated than thee.. -_-

+Corey506 well chess results are very heavily influenced by piece color especially at the highest levels. a win with black should be worth much more than a win with white and if two even players draw white should lose points and black gain

+Jay Thompson the right to move isn't that massive of an advantage that it should be factored into ratings and with good play black should muster up a draw assuming white doesn't blunder

+Corey506 it actually is highly significant if you look at records.
