On the 7.3 i had very similar issues and it was to do with the IPR, there is a nut that holds the solenoid on and mine had rattled off so the solenoid was sliding back and forth and causing erratic running and stalling. I worked on 7.3’s for a long time and I came to say this. IPR valve solenoid, I was thinking at first hydraulic leak on the high pressure side, but the way it randomly shuts down and starts back up, id definitely look at a loose nut holding the solenoid. There was also a recall on the cam sensors where the engine would randomly shutdown.

@edwardtabor7711 ай бұрын

That way you can plug the generator into the side of the house and you’ll at least have basic amenities (ex: furnace, hot water heater, kitchen lights,fridge). For your 7.3L problem, it is most likely a sensor. Guarantee it’s the IPR sensor. It’s located right below the fuel bowl. Could also be the ICP or CPS sensor The IPR, ICP and CPS sensors are known to go bad on 7.3’s. Your truck is having similar symptoms of when those go bad. I’d recommend doing all 3 sensors at the same time. Once those are replaced truck will work good as new. Make sure all sensors are from Motorcraft only!! Hope this helps

MAN I'm jealous of all that snow. all year so far in Manitoba Canada and we MIGHT have 10 inches of snow in the front yard. Glad you guys made it threw the storm on top and nothing broke. Hopefully the 7.3 is not a hard fix and that will be up and running for the next storm

Could be cam position sensor causing your truck problems they are known to go bad in the 7.3s part # F7TZ-12K073-B for 97-03 7.3 powerstroke

You don't think it's crankshaft position sensor family member just had theirs go out, and it just shut off like that
@FreedomInc11 ай бұрын
@@fck20112012the crank position sensor is the one the 7.3 has issues with. I've never heard of any cam sensors causing issues

@FreedomInc yeah that's what I was thinking crankshaft position sensor family member just had theirs go out an it would completely shut off going 70mph down the road freaking scary did it when I was driving lol

Yup I had the same issue. Swapped cam position sensor and was good to go

7.3 power strokes don’t have a crank sensor it is a camshaft position sensor part # F7TZ-12K073-B had the same exact issue with my truck

highly recommend getting a generator for the house. i had an electrician run a wire from panel to the outside wall so i can just pull my wheeled generator from the garage to the house and run power to the main items for when this happens. a lot cheaper than having one of those big back up generators. great value

My buddy turned me onto your channel and I tell you what I love it. I’m a diesel mechanic for a living and I’m watching this video and without diagnosing your truck properly. You need to get a scan you can get a Matco scan tool for about 800 or 1000 in that range and you’ll be able to hook it up your fuel pressures and see what’s not working on your truck and as far as the locks butane torch saves your behind the bad thing as you’re on the go all the time and I’m sure you could rig up some kind of a transfer pump that connects to your fuel tank to fill up the loaders and what not in a pinch as I said, the scan seem expensive, but they pay for themselves and then cold-weather like that changing out your fuel filters and a good additive to keep the water as low as possible in the fuel is the biggest lifesaver

Eric always gives me anxiety when he’s climbing all over or leaning on the machines. But then I realize Ryan doesn’t grease anything cus if he did Eric would be dragging globs all throughout the trucks,machine cabs, and their homes lol

Yeah I love their videos but it drives me nuts they grease the equipment 2x a year 🥲 I’ve been told you should grease a skid or mini ex every day before you work it and sometimes even half way through the day.

That is false! Too much grease can be a problem as well.

You need a whole house generator at your house. The ones that run on propane/ natural gas. That way when the power is out it starts automatically. Here in Illinois a lot of people have them.

I go 25 to 35 hours straight plowing only stopping for coffee and fuel regularly. When I start seeing things that aren't there, I know it's time to stop. I'm not sure what Tino was doing overnight, but he wasn't plowing 😂

The problems with your truck could have two reasons: Either some fuel line is partially cloged, had that on a small tracked drilling rig once. When it got colder the Diesel would start to seperate and first occasionally plug the lines and after some time the whole machine would stop working. Secong guess would be the crankshaft sensor. On my Passat B5 with any Diesel engine its a standard failure after around 20 to 25 years. Both Causes have about the same symptoms.

As a yard guy myself. I bought a tall container that my exact same excavator fits right in. 20 foot. Also keep a little torch in the truck from frozen locks! We keep Fuel cans inside our bins so we get no water in them. Great channel man!
