One of the reasons i am upset with the timewalking nerf is because they changed it just prior to an event where there IS lots of limited time items available to buy for badges. Me personally had planned around work to grind things out on my alts this week because i didnt have time last timewalking event because of work and now it feels like i got punished for that.

The shitty decision was rewarding people for doing the same thing 50 times in a week on every character. That should never have been a thing - same way they've changed holiday mounts and world boss mounts so you're not incentivised to spend your holiday mindlessly grinding to the point of burnout.

The whole Tier set pricing/discount system is a crystal clear, textbook example of over-engineering a simple concept. They should just normalize the price and set it (like 25 each), period (I would argue the price needs to be a tad lower). Regardless, all this price/discount adds nothing, and I stress *absolutely nothing*, but complication and frustration.

IMHO The 60/40/20 model never had fun built in to begin with, and thus I genuinely am trying to "analyze the fun" back INTO the system. I mean honestly, this design is unnecessary, required extra work, extra communication, and also creates new and avoidable points of failure. And for what? Stream of consciousness alert: There's a clear feeling they're trying to capture which we may not agree with, which is to earn that very cool premium reward that looks the best or is for our main class like woo we hit the climax! And most* people will consider themselves done, then finishing up buying up the much cheaper rewards, or move on to buy up the remaining sets. For more hardcore collectors they want that hill to climb, but then we get that downhill momentum. The rest of what we want comes faster cause of discounts, cause of the achievements that let us farm more tokens. You might hate it. I'm not defending it, just identifying it. Thinking of my own player behavior, if all sets were normalized, mentally it alters the "value" of these sets as they're now all the same cost. Okay now it's just a list to check off and yeah I'll go for the paladin set first but it doesn't quite hit the same. I agree that talking about this unnecessarily complicated. But I'll make the claim that in practice as we go through the day to day over this 8ish week period, it'll hit differently withouth much extra thought.

The reason it works like this with the first set being expensive and then discounts for the rest is because some people only play 1 character. They want the event to have some staying power for the person who has literally zero alts and will only be collecting that first set. If every set were only 25 coins that person would be finished on day 1 and wondering what there is to do for the next 3 months.

I kinda understand the zekvir thing, just wish delve was lowered to 6 for all vault slots. Still not doing m+ of raiding. Raiding takes too much time, and m+ is a toxic unfun nightmare that requires too much practice and knowledge to know beforehand to succeed. I have an hour at night to chill and play, im not wasting it playing with a bunch of douchebags

as far as mythic+ is concerned i never felt it was an issue before War Within it may have been considered necessary to gear up but for me it felt rewarding, in dragon flight, they were the right difficulty for me to bop away and enjoy doing them while giving me a small but enjoyable challenge..... now they just feel like a chore

I think the main issue I have is that I don't consider myself a "good" player I think myself average at best but I still spend upwards of 3 to 4 hours a day in WoW.... I raid with my guild twice a week (we are currently working through HC), in dragon flight the time spent outside of raids I would run keys at around the +18 to 20 mark and that would reward me with some good gear so I felt myself getting stronger while at the same time the challenge was enough for me, now as it is currently I am struggling to get into groups in anything higher than a +5 and the gear I'm getting from those keys is largely useless and I can't out gear those keys to move on to harder stuff so it just is not enjoyable for me atm

If they want the tier to feel “well-earned” they shouldn’t throw them on a vendor for event badges. They should have had something like heritage questlines, or the classic dungeon set quest chain. Grinding event currency isn’t bad, but I wouldn’t call it “well-earned”

@@daniellucas5522but it’s not done though, right? 606 ilvl is not the highest you can achieve from Delves, which would be Heroic gear. Heroic gear that from Delves alone, you can only get 1 or 2 (great vault and a map) and maaaaybe 3 a week? Then there’s having the crests to upgrade that gear, which Delves hardly drop. You can’t complain a form of content is too short if you only are willing to do half of it.

No way to earn effective amounts of crests make it shit to progress that way, maps drop painfully slowly and afaik have a seasonal cap like crests do, and vault is redundant with most other forms of content. It would honestly fix so many problems with delve progression if they just made bountiful delves have a 50% chance to drop 10-15 crests instead of gear.

there is of course a reason, for the Cheevo and the Quest in your Delver's Journey. it was always meant to exist as an optional challenge that rewards you cosmetically, rather than with Gear.

It's absolutely hilarious that you bring up the word "trust" after the guild bank fiasco. That’s like asking a thief to hold your wallet while you go for a swim. But hey, aside from that, solid video as always-your content really helps me see their design choices in a new light. Unfortunately, my empathy tank is running on fumes at this point. On the topic at hand, I get it: reward amounts need adjusting when stuff goes account-bound. Makes sense. But doing it after several Timewalking events while the Warbound system has been live? What kind of cosmic joke is that? There are players stockpiling badges like they're preparing for the apocalypse! And let’s face it, these badges are good for nothing but shiny outfits-no power-ups, no game-changers. But as is the Blizzard playbook: 1. Start strong. 2. Crank up the hype. 3. Boost those sub numbers. 4. Suddenly ghost us. 5. Finally, when the expansion’s on life support, sheepishly admit, "Yeah, we probably should've communicated better... next time, we swear!" And then, rinse and repeat for the next expansion. Yeah, I know it’s a bit of a jaded take, but hey, opinions are like guild banks-everyone’s got one, but nobody trusts them anymore!

The most logical "finer things" catch-up would be to make the number of drops you can get each week be a season cap that goes up by 8 each week. That would imply removing the across-all-difficulties-and-characters restriction while you are 9+ behind season cap. Then you can catch up by doing LFR on however as many characters as necessary. I'm glad account-wide rep has account-wide one-time-only turn-ins: I don't need to bother re-doing quests/dailies on alts unless I want/need to. If there are dailies to kill skinnable mobs like pristine horns, I can save collecting rep on those for characters with skinning, quest with gear rewards none of my alts need can be done with my main that has maxed-out disenchant, etc. for other profs.

Good on Blizz responding to feedback, and making efforts to keep it balanced. I just hate how toxic pugging is in general. They want to do some obscure strat after a smooth run so far? Better not ask, or you're going to get kicked immediately because "This isn't a progression group". People in keys are no better... It's frustrating, not having a guild or dedicated group. Not to mention that RNGsus seems to hate me, because I've lost basically every roll in raids, and I get gold EVERY m+ key.

I would say Zack could count towards the great vault on alts. My thought is if one character has all 3 vault slots filled with T8 delves, that would unlock zack to count towards the rest of your characters delves at T8.

Well, first of all I hope you feel better quickly. Format's fine with me. As far as the anniversary event, I don't really care about transmog personally (nothing against it, it's just not something that interests me) so the farm doesn't really affect me much. Honestly, I have all the mounts and don't really do transmog, so there's not very much for me in this anniversary as far as goals, but that's okay too. I agree with you on the Zekvir nerf. I didn't understand why you got credit in the first place. Sure, he's boss level, but only one boss and really quick to kill if you're geared and/or know what you're doing. I don't raid so I can't comment on the buff system, but it seems nice for people that need it or will use it. At any rate, again - I hope you feel better dude.

A person’s play style should not be restricted by Blizzard in my opinion. The time walking badges currency nerf was not needed, that harms only the truly dedicated from getting purely cosmetic items and gear that doesn’t even compare to your average heroic dungeon gear. And the anniversary event stuff, just let people play as they will. Some people can’t get enough time to play, but because there are those who will grind the hell out of it we need to slow your roll on getting the currency, “Ah ah ah, can’t have you getting cosmetic items too easy, don’t worry you have the trading post where you can buy one item per month from our increasingly expensive prices. Also buy the coolest stuff for 20 dollars or more on our cash shop!” I get what you are saying, but if every other Avenue of cool cosmetics in the game wasn’t skewed out of our favor it would have more of a impact with me and many others. Restrictions on things that are cosmetic and all, seem like a waste of time to me.

It's going to be barely an inconvenience for sweats while everyone who just wants to have a few alts at max level gets hosed. TW should have stayed for current xpac toons only.

Not that worried with the timewalking badges thing.. I already have 145k timewarped badges. I play many alts..It always ended up with 3k here.. 4k there.. And totaly. BAM... 145k. So i can get the rewards whenever they add new ones. But will be interesting to see how the event raid goes. Since i will be doing it on my alt army that i have.. Still need to level 12 more alts so i have them all ready for the expansion. I like playing alts. Its also a great way to get gold... 200 or so per lfr raid boss. plus 325 for finishing that wing 1 time.. 8 bosses, 3 wings. aroudn 1600+975 = 2750 g per alt... every week, just for doing lfr. That isnt counting the great vault if you dont need any gear. Since you then get an extra 6k from the token vendor.. And then take into consideration the trash stuff. The repairs.

I think the more you do something ie delves, the less of them you should have to do over time to increase your vault. Or have it be based on ilvl. Something, but filling your vault to grab one item takes too long.

This's a natural design philosophy of the starting reward being easy to attain and making additional rewards take a bit longer. Encourages short term engagement, if we want to play armchair dev. Imagine if the Delve track was 4-2-2 instead of 2-2-4. Immediate negative reactions "grr forced engagement blizz" etc. Also keep in mind the vault is ultimately a single choice feature, even if all 9 slots were filled out.

The problem with raids is that if I dont get extremely extremely lucky the gear I want has to drop and then I have to win an almost impossible roll then I dont get gear. Gearing is all luck and has nothing to do with skill. If I dont get lucky the vault or extra lucky in the raid, I cant get gear. If I cant get gear I dont get invited to anything. Because the game is EXTREAMELY unballanced and I play a Druid, I might as well quit.

Don't have a full view of your situation but definitely sounds like working in a more static group would help you a lot. A measure of skill is needed to down bosses. Luck works in your favor (eventually lol) when playing with the same people.

They should have limited how many Zekvir kills counted to like 1-2 - it was WAY too easy. I was killing him in less than 2min on my DK. Removing it completely seems a bit over the top.

I’m just not excited for the anniversary event. Weeks long grind for new versions of old sets most of which I’m not keen on anyway. I realised recently that the last carrot of transmog to make me grind no longer has meaning for me. I dropped ilvl chasing, then pets and mounts a long time ago. I have my fave sets that I wear on each of my characters. When I get a new bit of transmog I may wear it for a week or so and then I’m back to my fave set. You know I think I’m finally done. Maybe I’ll just sit in Hallowfall and enjoy the scenery whilst listening to podcasts 😊.

Not really, i wanted the badges to be transferable warbands gave me that so im happy with the currency, only thing i want now is more then 6 dungeons per expansion timewalking pool, and more then ine raid. Personally i’d take ICC over ulduar, any day of the week for wrath timewalking.

I didn't realize the tinderbox change until I rolled up to buy my supply for my round of crafting and saw them at like 600 down from like 6-8k. The falling profit margins for goods I was making is bittersweet for someone who was making bank but I 1000% feel this is a much need benefit to the overall economy.

It was a nerf to people spam farming tinderboxes and has the side effect of hurting crafters. Overall it’s for the best because there were hoarders who got screwed over hard. I’m all for screwing over people market fixing.

@@ozmcsweenI sold every box I ever got and I didn’t exactly target farm the thing. They definitely made them too rare. If they were just an enchanting mat okay maybe sure. But. And big but here. They are used in the blacksmithing alloys. Every blacksmithing item, weapon shield or armor uses 6 or so of those. No I don’t want to spend 54k gold crafting an item, that’s insane!

The zekvir change was awful. I have 6 characters one that doesn’t need a single thing from delves at 620ilvl. The change to where he doesn’t give any vault is terrible. There is nothing difficult with a +8 on a fresh 80 in greens. It just takes more time.. I did the math of doing 8 delves on 6 characters. It would be 15 hours of delves… I like doing raids and mythic+ too. But I shouldn’t have to do 15 hours a week to get my vault slots on my character. If anything zekvir should have a cap for the week. Kill him 4 times for vault then you can’t get more. Then the other 4 would be from your bountiful delves. Just a time wasting change

i honestly dont care about the complaints that X makes Y mandatory, because it's a video game, if it's a chore to you, then maybe just maybe you're better off playing something else or simply finding a hobby more suitable for you. i swear people play MMOs and have this contrived notion that they should just get things handed to them or that they're super special because they play a fraction of the overall content.

The relatively easy hero slots is nice but my altoholic self feels like it’s a unfulfilled vault if im not doing the 8 T8s every week per toon, and I have a lot of alts id like to play just not bothering with this season. Unpopular opinion but if you are so casual that the only content you have time do is delves, maybe play some other games that are better focused on a single player experience.

The difference between "quests only give renown on one of your warbound characters" and "we are now giving you less timewalking badges on alts" is that it was designed like that to begin with, so the pacing is still good. With the timewalking change, you are now literally getting way waaaaaay less badges on your alts, and are still expected to do the same amount of work. It's honestly ridiculous and shows just how much Blizzard wants to waste your time.

You're getting less badges on your alts, but in terms of time investment, you can actually get many of the things on the vendor quicker than before TWW since you can transfer the currency freely. And with the upcoming change for timewalking in 11.0.5, you can do dungeons from level 10+, which you can get to in like 10 minutes if you use an allied race. I don't think blizzard wants to incentivize people making dozens of alts just to farm timewalking currency

No, you are very much not expected to do the same amount of work. The entire point is that they DO NOT WANT PEOPLE TO BE GRINDING SHIT ON 50 ALTS. They changed the holiday mounts for the same reason, they changed world boss mounts, they've changed so much of this stuff already that the pattern is clear - they do not want people to feel like the best way to earn rewards is to level 50 toons and do the same thing 50 times every time it comes up, because that causes massive burnout and isn't fun. It would have been nice if they buffed the first character each time by a bit, but let's not pretend that we don't know exactly what they're trying to do with the latest in a long series of changes like this.

@@daniellucas5522 OK. Let me break it down conceptually for you. Let's say that all timewalking rewards ever cost 2000 badges (just a random example). Let's say that to get all of them, it would take 14 months across 5 alts to get the exact number (2000) of badges (also an example number). Before the currency transfer system, it would take 14 months. After the currency transfer system, it would also take 14 months (there is only a set amount of rewards per timewalking vendor). After this change, it will take 18 months (example) to save up for the exact same number of badges (or same amount of work). NOW, you will have to make MORE alts to get the same amount of badges to make it so you can get 2k in 14 months. So the time investment is MORE. I hope I've helped you understand this very simple concept. I.e. You now have to play MORE (that's greater) than before to make up the same amount of badges.

The second group you spoke about the CompletionistS, i’m not really sure what to say about these type of people. I feel like the issue is with themselves because no game/mode will ever be satisfying. Because if it was too difficult, they would complain. It was over tuned. If it was doable for them in the first go around, they would complain. It was too easy. at some point, you have to ask yourself what am I really playing this game for? If you’re looking for a little fun, maybe play with some other people and have a good experience in your leisure time than I think that is the better take. If you’re looking for this or any game to validate your life by overcoming challenges within, then I feel like you need to do some soul-searching and look elsewhere, like maybe channel that energy into some actual real life activities. And before somebody pipes up with, oh what if you are a paraplegic or some other extreme nonsense argument to that I say even taking a breath every day in the real world while you’re still alive is a greater reward and accomplishment than any moment you spend within a game.

I covered it twice-OH you meant popular streamers =) Jokes aside there's little more to talk about since their announcement was pretty final (no way to recover). As someone who's only remotely familiar with data recovery the failure behind the curtain was catastrophic and I'm guessing here, guild banks are treated differently from character data. What happened to those affected is a crime-but-not-a-crime. It really sucks to see in a game this old where it's never happened before. But I can't begin to imagine how to do compensation when they have nothing to run on (cause if they did, it'd have happened already).

I get sick of people complaining that some new feature "feels required" because it offers good gear to people that aren't interested in raiding or M+. Nothing in this game is required. Hell, even the subscription fee is optional if you farm enough gold. People just need to have something to whine about.

And if it’s catered for “the casual player” that people like to defend it as, then they don’t need the hero track vault reward and people who don’t like delves don’t feel like they have to do 8 t8s every week per toon if they want a relatively easy hero piece in 3 vault slots.

IMO hero works fine. It's already tough enough for a pure delve person to go higher than 4/6 hero but better this than for them to have 8/8 champion and slowly building up gilded that can't be used for any of their gear.

@@SoulSoBreezy champion 8/8 and hero 4/6 are the same ilvl, so I still think you don’t exactly need hero gear out of delve vault. Besides t11s which are supposed to be difficult the recommended ilvl for t10 delves is 620 ilvl. Right on point there for champion gear.
