Blizzard indeed feels underwhelming now that they implemented sandstorms, but I have to say that it feels more cold and desolate without a ton of monsters swarming around you.

I like the sandstorm more because of the desert flame. I usually play mage in most of my playthroughs, and if you combine "golden shower" with the desert flame, you're practically gonna bulldoze your way through every boss.

Maybe,but you still can get better armour from a blizzard ^^....forbidden armour is pretty bad....spider armour is better for a summoner and adamantite armour is better for a mage....defense is a bit better for a summoner but not for a mage... Frost armour is acutually very good if you are using a melee/ranged character..gives very good bonuses and has a pretty good defense....

Samu Rönkkö Minions do less damage and you can't have as many as with spider armour. It doesn't give much for a mage as well... Whatever...I'll try that armour out when I start a summoner/mage character....may do that pretty soon ^^ That forbidden armour is like...."You get more armour + magic damage increase but you have to pay for it with a lower minion cap and less minion damage"...^^

Frozen wings is as good as leaf wings and cheaper plus melee in early hardmode always

The frost armour is amazing for melee if you get shadow flame knives, the magma stone and cursed flame flask. Make a bloody rainbow of blue, green, purple and normal flames, while making your foes light up the same way.

ValentinE If you're dying in early hardmode while wearing melee armour the problem isn't with the class, it's the problem with player skill. Melee has plenty of early-hardmode options, such as shadowflame knives which could be obtained within the first day of hardmode. The melee weapons from biome mimics also easy to obtain, and can be obtained very early if a mob trap is set up before hardmode (for souls). There's also the yo-yos, such as Amarok, Helfire and Yelets, which can be obtained early on if the player has the patience to farm in the Snow, Hell or Jungle. These all give plenty of choice for defeating the first mech boss. Hell, with enough skill, it's possible to go right for duke after getting a yo-yo, some wings, and the appropriate accesories.

it depends on your target solar eruption is effective for crowd control daybreak is useful against 1vs1 combat , and the debuff is stackable up to 8 Phantasm summons blue arrows that accompaign the original ones , and is great for single target Vortex beater uses both bullets and rockets , the projectile rockets curve to enemies Stardust dragons will hit many enemies many times stardust cells can throw damage-stacking cells at enemies Nebula blaze home in at enemies nebula arcanum is slower but stronger

Issac, in your final evaluation you overlooked the frozen wings, which may I remind you are as good as the flame, leaf, beetle, hoverboard, and spectre wings, and with at least palladium or cobalt armor, the ice golem is a good farming enemy right at the start of hardmode, plus you get a great mage weapon and great armor materials! please look at this comment and think, i just want to see if you agree or disagree, in my mind the sandstorm is great, but the blizzard deserves its wings to be mentioned in the final evaluation, thank you.

yeah, right when i entered hardmode i instantly made a AFK farm for ice golems. i got the frost wings and all the frost armor. I then fought the mech bosses, they got rekt. The gear that the frost armor gives is very op at early hardmode. it did deserve a win, but thats just my opinion

SuicuneWiFi Actually, after having used the Cell Staff, I think it depends on how many minions you can have. If you can only have one or two, it's better to use the Dragon, but if you can have four or more, the Cells will be able to attack everything at once.

I always play as a mage, but the ice wings are so valuable for me for the speed and height they give pretty early in hardmode, making it way easier to run around bosses and enemies while avoiding damages that the poor defense of the sand armor won't stop.

Preston Dailey I'm with you there when I first got them I was like yesssssss but when I tried them out they didn't mix with my vanity armor set it just looked off not only that but I thought it would fly high scince it competes with the flame wings and is kind of opposite to each other the flame wings didn't go great with my vanity armor too because just like the ice wings it looked off but I liked it better it couldn't beat the ghost wings heck it can't even come close to beating spooky wings much less fishron wings which is what I have now but it was great for the short time I had it I got a spooky twig the next day

astrid beast I feel melee and range are better as there is more variety in weapon options, the flasks and different types of ammo seem to increase how much you may want to explore in order to buff yourself up, and the lunar pillar weapons greatly benefit the Rangers and Warriors far more than Mages and Summoners (Solar eruption and Phantasm OP). Pre hardmode, there are barely any magic weapons or summon weapons, with tons of variety in Bows, swords and guns.
