This was great to watch! I've been really excited to see Task Force Boone in action, I've played them once to middling effect and it's fun to see them get tried out in a different way. I learned a lot about how I could use them better in future games!

Thanks! It is a learning experience for us as well. I expect Robby to get more proficient with them in the near future.

Where did you get the little square orange tokens you use for marking what unit has gone?
@warcorgi3623Ай бұрын
@@SPARKY-og6ld the activation markers come from a great skirmish game called Black Powder Red Earth. We have about a score of batreps featuring that game on the channel.

@warcorgi3623 aaaaah ok, sweet, yea I've seen some of those videos but I must have missed those. Thank you I'll have to go back and watch more. By the way thank you for putting on such great battle reports, you both do such a great job of just playing a good game and still manage to explain what's going on as well! Thank you

I gotta know where you got your measurement tools from? I can’t seem to find one that’s flexible!
@warcorgi3623Ай бұрын
They are an old Games Workshop product from about four years ago. I'm not sure if they still sell them.

is this a 3x3 or 2x2 board?
@warcorgi3623Ай бұрын
This was a 3x3 board, which is our preference. We occasionally play on a 2x2 board if we are pressed for time though.

Super fun bat rep! One question I had was when y'all did EWAR to contest the melee handler getting pinned, the Boone player rolled two successes the Harlow player then said "I need three successes to cancel the attack" where's that at in the rules? We've been playing it that you just had to tie to cancel. But we could be playing it wrong Also the VAT Jammer is a pretty sweet unit. One of the rules for Jammers is of they move into range of a friendly pinned unit, the pinned token is removed! Would have been a nifty way to free up the Razorback.

Thanks for the comments! We always welcome rules discussion on the channel; we work hard to get things right and need to know when we get them wrong. EWAR is a little ambiguous, but the rule in Supplemental 8.1 reads "When an Enemy Model makes a Data Attack Action, one Model in your Group with a Data Spike may make a Skill Check. If the Skill Check results in more successes than the Data Attack Skill Check, the Data Attack is nullified." We believe the language of "results in more successes" replaces the way an opposed skill check is normally conducted to keep data attacks potent. Impact tweaked the way jammers work just a little. It now reads "Friendly Models in range cannot be Targetted by Data Knife Attacks or Data Attacks." It is a bit of a nerf but still very powerful.

@@warcorgi3623 thanks for the explanation! That does make data attacks better. I'm wondering where I heard the jammer effect. There's some FAQ explanations that are only recorded on the discord unfortunately. My understanding is the ESS team hopes to drop an updated rules thing in 2025, looking forward to that. Love the game a lot and painting the models is a ton of fun. Looking forward to a duster bat rep!
