Hey Folks! We made a few mistakes in our rules. We're new to the game and still learning, so I want to pin this comment so everyone can learn from our mistakes. Thanks again to the viewers who offered up the corrections. Blast Damage was calculated using "vehicle" damage. Also, the players made "return fire reactions" to Over Watch- which cannot be done. Oh well, we'll get it right in the next one.

I'm glad you're enjoying the video. And welcome to BLKOUT! The new Impact expansion is really good! I really like the new forces and the dusters. The next BLKOUT battle report will have a few dusters in it and will release on 24 December.

Speaking of having having a "blast," be advised: we made some errors on the blast rules in our game. But, yea, BLKOUT is a ton of fun. A lot of small tactical choices that have huge impacts. It's a fast-pace exciting game. I'm liking the front line dusters. Next BLKOUT report will have a few dusters

Interesting stuff! Reminds me a bit of the Cyberpunk episodes in some ways, though obviously the game mechanics are pretty different. Plays fast and has lots of neat choices to make. Overall, it was pretty good!
@WargamerStoriesАй бұрын
Yeah, I agree! One thing I like about Cyberpunk is the "action economy" that a player needs to manage and capitalize on for each of their characters. BLKOUT has a lot of zone control (sectors of fire)- a feature I like about Bolt-Action. Sometimes, I wish I could do the same in BattleTech and prevent those light mechs from getting in behind my heavies :D
@DeusorumАй бұрын
@WargamerStories It also seems like the units in BLKOUT are more fragile than Cyberpunk, which is good for fast play but can feel bad if the dice are against you. Seems like the Burn cards were designed to mitigate that a bit.

great video I love Narrative battle reports just a few notes which are very common mistakes When it comes to blast weapons using the Cyka team as prime example the 2 means it does 2 damage to Vehicles and dusters not infantry they just take 1 damage per success then roll armour checks like normal The Maintcor Model that is on 1 knee with a Drum mag is the machine specialist Lastly the UN's Force Rule doesn't apply to Golems as it says "All UN Raid team Alpha UTG Assaulters and Specialists" Other great video can't wait for the next one

another miniature game never heard but love the fast paced nature of it and how its a lot of unknowns and calculated plays on trying to make your opponent burn their resources first. Its not battle tech buts its good enough im likely to get into it especially if its not something i need to drop $100's on just to start playing.

i'm a big fan of those base rings, what a great way to visually notice the specialists. Works fantastic for video purposes, since it's often hard to tell the models apart, but I bet it's helpful in person too. For my purposes, I might just paint the base rims a different colour, or add a stripe. I have a feeling those rings are 3D printed by yourself? Good use of some shatterpoint terrain too. some of it is non-descript enough to fit in anywhere.
@WargamerStories16 күн бұрын
Our approach to terrain: Re-use, Re-Cycle, and never Reduce. With that being said, the rings come (pilfered and repurposed) from a CMON game. Either "Rising Sun" or the various "Zombicide" games. Though, I am sure one could 3D print them or get generic bases. Maybe Enemy Spotted Studios will make some stylized bases for that in the future. Shatterpoint is awesome- in fact, I think every BLKOUT and Cyberpunk game has at least one piece of terrain from Shatterpoint and Necromunda. :D

@3:40; blast works different. You'd make the skill test and then each success from the shooter forces the defender to make a single armor check (regardless of normal values) for each success. The specialist could have made two 5+ saves to try to survive here!
@fletch0307Ай бұрын
@5:00; the armor save shows how many saves they can make whenever they're taking damage. Think of damage as a pool, and armor saves are working against that pool. If you have a save of 1/5+ and take two damage, you cant block two damage with the one roll! The cyka could make two saves on 4 ups, each blocking one damage.
@fletch0307Ай бұрын
@6:49, an activation is one unit's "turn". Would only have applied to the defense against the golem!
@fletch0307Ай бұрын
@8:30; overwatch reaction is not a shoot action so you can't return fire reaction against it. Makes the open movements like that way more risky.
@WargamerStoriesАй бұрын
The grenade launcher is 24"/2, Blast 1. Doesn't that mean it would cause 2 damage for each success? Let me go re-read the rules.

Fantastic looking battle report. One small point is the UN sniper has an Anti-Material Rifle (like a .50 cal or something), not an antimatter rifle.

Enjoyed the video. Saves against blast weapons aren’t based on a target’s armor. Roll one save per attacker’s successes.

@NulldragoonАй бұрын
Thanks for the great battle report. It was interesting but you had a few of the rules wrong, damage for blast weapons is handled differently from regular shooting and Borz actually ignores the first damage from blast. For the reactions, it is important to note you can not re-act to a reaction, Overwatch reaction can only be done by against movement and happens before the action. Also I'm not sure if you did the re-rolls for Medium and CQB but just wanted to mention those.

Bummer, because Manticor's Turn 2 strategy completely revolved around suppressing/ destroying overwatch with reactive/ return fire from the protection provided by the targeting smoke. But thanks for pointing it out, we will get it right next game. We're still new... but catching on. I personally like the Burn Cards

This game is a lot less intuitive with less card rules to look at than your Cyberpunk Red Battle Zone reports. As a result this game was harder to follow and appreciate. What is the purpose of the kiosks you pick up when you tag them? Is the orange acrylic standy for "lean outs" to show LOS without actually moving the mini? This game would benefit from a "how to play" video. I think your edits are great and I like how you focus on the minis for the video rather than watchcing to talkng heads with a small tabletop beneath. Much prefer your videos.
@WargamerStories11 күн бұрын
Usually for our first few reports for a game, we do spend some time explaining rules a bit. But. there were already a few great how-to-play videos out there for BLKOUT. So, we made out battle report with the assumption that most players were already familiar with the rules (even though we made a few errors). BLKOUT does have quiet a few interesting rules that allows players to interrupt one another's actions- so I can see how that can catch a few viewers not familiar with the game off guard.
