Sailing over to Great Salt Pond from Stonington CT is the best way to get to Block as it is an easy reach over and back in the prevailing Southwest breezes.

At 11:30 in the video, was the old movie house. My exhusband and I saw "Forget Paris" in 1995. We got married at the Bellevue House, reception at Ballard's. Our first serious overnight date prior to marriage was at the Surf hotel. We stayed at the Blue Dory on our first anniversary and 9 months later...had our son, who we actually brought to the island since 2 months old. This was our yearly place to go. My ex has since passed away, but my son and I visited on the anniversary of his father's passing, then yearly. Fond memories of Block Island 🏝 ❤
