It's kinda the point: in my version, Hatred does try to help the player, but only sees it by its way (Destroying everyone to prevent any chance of failing the original timeline) And it assumes the Shedletsky is faking his injuries just for us to do his dirty work- so in turn, it tries to force us to give up due to our rash actions hurting more than saving.

I made lyrics too at one point (which I still feel like don’t actually sync all that much in some parts) but I think we both kinda have the same theory in terms of Hatred being right in some ways but always misguided in it’s reasoning for you to let it take full control which is never the answer. Hatred quite literally tells you to “let your pain flow” as if you have been doing nothing but suppress your memories and everything in fact I believe the fighting of these emotions is directly linked to the suppression of them mentally you don’t try to diffuse them in any sort of way you instead just attack them relentlessly wanting to forget these “impurities” because that’s what “BUILDERMAN” calls them at least which is where I get into the theory of that we have suppressed our emotions to the point we can hold the Ghostwalker but we aren’t truly pure to wield it as if we truly were pure we would be able to easily let all them all rest and subside as we have addressed them all and feel confident enough to pull the sword without having to fight your emotions off along with that too I believe that Fear, Hatred/Anger, Greed, and Solitude all correspond to one of the 5 stages of grief Denial, Anger, Bargaining, and Depression and the reason we don’t see some form of Acceptance is because we never accepted ourselves at all and merely pushed it all away leaving that feeling of joy locked behind negativity because we never kept that negativity in check. Sorry for the paragraph I have a problem.

Nah dude, it makes total sense! I like how you think! That kinda what I was going for- Since Hatred still remembers the player's original time, and it's trying to prevent the pain and loss our character felt by taking over, oblivious to the idea they're hurting more than helping, which it tries to make the player realize their actions hurt, so it's "smarter" for hatred to take over as the player keeps putting aside emotions, kinda my whole goal but I may have veered off that path by now. Oh well.

And thus, a new chapter for the fandom has begun. I like the lyrics, though I think they could be refined. Hatred comes off as desperate near the beginning overexplaining himself, self-righteous and overconfident statements would work better there I think. I like the inclusion of the fact that Hatred, like all emotions, serves a purpose, and feel like you could've played more into that, like Hatred reminding the player of how no one else helped them as they struggled for their life. That they were alone all along, and that no one will help them but themselves. And Hatred, in his benevolance, will do what is overdue and take what must be taken.

@Internet_No_Body the beginning I have no excuse for. It's meant to be the intro when Hatred first sees you again, even when you went unconscious so um.. yeah I also suck at slow beginnings at the start of lyrics, I'll take the blame

@@Milesthecosmicfox Oh yeah I get that, okay so keep in mind I'm not the one that took the time to write lyrics nor the owner of the video, I'm just some jackass on the internet who has the benefit of foresight, but this is how I'd go about the song: Hatred is overconfident, starts by mocking the player for even trying, telling them all the mistakes they made until the end of the slow part where he gets bored and says he'll kill them. The long guitar could be a long "DIE", and then something like "You duck and you weave, but we both know what'll happen that you'll stumble and falter and that your end's overdue so give in and give me the reins so that I'll use the skills you failed to use and show them all what the world is in the hands of their betters"(keep in mind I suck at keeping up with tempo like that, so this probably isn't even the right lenght) and then he realizes that the player isn't dying so then the guilt trip and taunting comes in, which would be along the lines of "You're no better than me at least one of us is honest", after which honestly you did excellently and I would lowkey use that lol. But the emotions could be done better I think. "You overcame your own greed, but for what when no one else will?", "You beat down, Solitute, but it's no solution", "You have won over your fears but that just means all that's left in your empty shell is ME." And seeing that not even that is working, he would go all in on the "I'm your only friend" card. No one helped the player, they ran from a future only to continue playing along to a script being the pawns of others, and that they deserve better, which Hatred can provide. And during the final segment, Hatred admits that it's going to lose this fight, and then starts talking about what's going to happen in the next one. This would clash nicely especially with the final hopeful segment in my opinion, acting as a twist to where the player should be holding all the cards. After all, Hatred isn't defeated, he just becomes tame, and he would get a kick out of saying "we'll fight over and over and over and over" during the "Left in the dark" segment. You could reference/"foreshadow" the nirvana refight especially. But again, I'm not the one that took the time to sit down and write lyrics properly and publish them, I'm just a commentor trying to provide feedback. I'm not saying you should redo this, but if you did you could consider this. Kudos for the song.

​well, thinking about it. I agree as hell, the long guitar was the hardest no doubt cause I didn't have the ability to do word by word plus it gave me a migraine trying to line it all up so it scrapped and became just what it is, I'm not proud of it at all, I wanted to work on it, but had no idea what to do without changing the rest. The emotions was meant to be catchy and have a flow with it. And when singing it, it felt right yknow? Cause it fitted with the song. We overcame our Greed, but we started hurting ourselves, so we aren't free. We abandoned our Solitude, but fate was told for us that we would do that. We defeated our Fears, but now Hatred will always be here in our mind as Fear is what held Hatred back. My assumption is Hatred was the emotion we needed to defeat, not the other three. The ending is a desperate grasp to try to gain control over the player by trying to make us see it's way. But obviously with a final cry, Hatred falls, but is in the Nivara which is the back of our mind. But the "you may have defeated your fears, but I will **always be here**" is my foreshadowing

@@Milesthecosmicfox Yeahh writing fast lyrics is hard, and especially with parts like that you can only really know if it works when you sing it which takes skill by itself. I mean hey, not everything has to be perfect, I'm glad you posted it as it is. And yeah, they do and being sung they would sound nice, but I think that's again trying too hard and seeming desperate, I think Hatred would be more subtle playing with the player's mind, and reminding them that all the emotions they crushed were there for a reason and only trying to do their jobs would do it excellently. Greed is there because the player needs every last item to survive, solitude is there because they're completely alone in this(mostly, but Hatred would pointedly ignore the small helps that's been lent to them) and fear is there because their life is in danger at any moment of their life and that Hatred was RIGHT there and it was trying to warn them which they ignored.

I made a comment about the player praying in lyrics but I didn't understand some things till Milesthecosmicfox revealed their version of Hatred (it tries to help the player but only sees it by its way which is destroying everyone in order to prevent the failure of the og timeline, also assuming that Shedlestly is getting us to do his dirty work for him through faking his injuries so it tried to make us give up) and this calls for a reprise of my lines with a few more details: The player is desperate at first Their awareness of their sin grows the lower Hatred's HP gets, hope and faith that they'll be saved also rising, growing slowly though In their second attempt they also understand that they have to be sincere and truly mean their prayer, so they have to say it in this way I do NOT want to redo this myself because it feels tedious so got any ideas for how this could go?
