I’d say if you’re regularly pulling mud with the grabs, you should consider a graphite paint, like Easy Slide or Slick Plate. If it’s random and sporadic, then that would be like buying a Hilti anchoring system to hang a photo

Not regularly but Bloody good idea no matter the job, at least it would always be ready for those sticky situations. well providing the silty jobs do not scratch it all off lol. Cheers for the suggestion :-)

I think the customer should surround the gully with stones to avoid mud going in there when it rains. Not pebbles because they can fall down the gully grate but large enough to keep the mud at bay and not fit down the slots in the grate. Hello from Guntersville, Alabama USA.

I think it mostly comes from the roof and down the pipe. We get a lot of moss ect here and it is forever filling the gully and causing issues. Welcome from south england apfarms8612, it’s a pleasure to have you watching.

Nice little video. Does that gully connect to a soak-away or to a storm drain network?

Most rainwater gullies drain into rubble soakaways. Some are also connected to the combined sewer

Its a video i took a few months ago but didnt put up. i didnt get anything in time for the Tuesday video so i put it up just to have something. this gully goes into a soakaway. modern soakaways are made up of large crates buried in the ground. this property is not old enough to share the sewer system with rain water but many older property's do or have rubble pits buried on the land. i think this property is young enough to be crates. if you live at the bottom of a hill or in a low point in the land you could be plumbed into the storm water system to prevent flooding.

😂😂 quite. Normally I would be but I would avoid getting knees deep that early in the morning 😂 my significant other had my knee pads for gardening but also, wanted to test the gully grabs in the situation, not had them long
