Blocked drain. Dip stick gutter guy. #drains
Got a call back to a drain I unblocked, a local contractor who I have since had words with was called by my customer to look at a gutter that was overflowing in the rain. The down pipe of the gutter was blocked but inexplicably he told the customer I had not cleared the drain properly and the water was backing up 8feet of pipe out of the drain to exit out of gutter ( what a complete idiot). Anyway I fix his problem for my customer (no charge) I give him down the banks over the phone as if you are going to flag off another contractor you better have the facts right because someone like me who takes pride in his work will come back at ya.

🤔🤔 Well it is actually a Drainage issue. Just a Run-off to a Gulley. The misconception of Drain from Guttering is the issue 😂

Hi Tony as always a job good job, I would have liked to been a fly on the wall on the debrief, the lessons on how gravity works and how not to take advantage of some customers and blame other’s for the fault.

And the tbag it's self takes a hundred years plus to rot as it is made with nylon.. best tea is dealt to a warm tea pot by spoon.. then left to brew for a few minutes.. and Yes, you can get loose Yorkshire tea..

Tony I have a suggestion, when you can't see the waste channel, what if you used the pipe you have for deep manholes? You can easily put the hose in it, find the channel, and you're off to the races. just a thought.

No because it was noticed during the latest stormy weather. My unblock cured a problem with an overflowing gully. No mention of gutters ( I don't get involved as I'm trying to avoid spiderman antics )

Professionalism is a key word you like but probably suggest showing less of where house is and which specific house at more of drains eg can say beddington or where ever but don’t show house or street on like do on every video customers need some privacy there maybe issues you are unaware of. Do you get written and verbal consent for every video?

I would like to hear that debriefing. But chances are I couldn't understand what is being said with the heated discussion. Hahaha ! Did you tell her she got some bad information? Like the customer said the drain should run to the street for every home. I've said on other videos not yours . The big city or small towns should spend the money and buy a couple blocks or a third of a city. Then kncok everything to the dirt and redo everything starting with the sewer running from the home to the street. No sharing of drains but the main running down the street.

So many shared drains here, yes the gutter job customer is completely clued up now as she watched the video of us clearing the rain water pipe. ( the magic reverse gravity pipe)

Thats what I ask myself all the time! But obviously the little vacuum he has wouldn’t help. And the big guys with the vacuum-trucks that could suck it all up in a minute are quite expensive to order l‘ve been told.

Could vac it out but the problem is where it goes after it's vacuumed out, I am a drain jetter not a dedicated vac truck operator ( mainly used for road gullies) cheers

The bloke was a bit dim and now my customer can see that, I was always taught, problems are an opportunity to turn a customer into a loyal customer by addressing the issue immediately and with a smile.
