Groms aren't really much of a distance cruiser, but if you do a lot of short trips and city riding, they're great. Heavy riders will suffer even slower acceleration from the bitty engine. There's a lot of better deals to be had for that same Grom money, but you gotta take some time to find those bikes.

To Your Negatives of the Dark Horse: Indian offers a Tourer Front Screen just Like the Chieftain Darkhorse in 32 Different Colors, and the 5" Mini Apes as well for longer rides is an Option, Lastly you have the Option when Purchasing to have FOX Adjustable Preload Shocks or Twin Chamber Shocks for better Handling and you can Also Buy the FOX Twin Cylinder Rear Shocks which give you up to a Extra 1"inch of Rear Travel on the Factory Shocks which also Increase the Lean angle an extra 15% of Stock. Having watched a lot of these videos you really nailed it. These are not touring bikes. Lean angle is important. I have a few friends who traded in relatively new Indians for older Victory's because they were scraping pegs to often. The Victory Vision has a 39 degree lean angle and makes curvy roads much more comfortable, even riding conservatively while being much easier on the back. This would be a good all around short ride or commuter bike, but not a good long distance bike.

M8 Softail is still better and cheaper than these. There wont be any aftermarket for these bikes for years either. Indian wont sell enough of them per year to make a worthwhile dent. @@FranBunnyFFXII Revzila alone already has more than 1500 parts available for sale on the Cheif, so I don't know what your babbling on about no aftermarket support. First time bike buyer and new rider here. Been watching your videos for a little while now, (Since I took the 2-day safety course in NY). I know , I know...I should be looking at a cheap first junker bike to start out learning to ride with. With that out in the open, I love the Indian history and the aesthetics of this bike had me switch from wanting the scout bobber. Do you feel as though the left side high flow air cleaner is getting in the way of your leg at all? I know the Indian scout bobber is notorious for uncomfortable seat, would you sway from the factory seat on the dark horse, or stay stock? I would be doing short 20 minute rides on highway and occasional 5 hour ride to the Adirondacks.
@Peterquince3212 жыл бұрын
Dunno if you’ve made any purchases. I got a 21 scout bobber. Seat was shit and I ordered some nice stuff from dean speed customs out of Arizona. The airflow for the scout is beneath the tank rather than on the side Currently undergoing making my scout good for touring. Me and my girl are riding from NM go sturgus this year. Things I’d recommend is definitely a new seat. I have a two up seat. Gives me some Nice low back support. Got 10 inch ape bars. Have custom pipes, pegs and a 22 inch sissy bar coming in. Debating on getting a fairing only cause I know that open roads are tough enough as is for an hour. Let alone 2 days of riding. And some shocks. The stock suspension isn’t the best. Better than my last bike which was a rebel 500 (amazing bike btw) But I can still feel a lot of bumps. Damn near through my back out on the interstate a few weeks ago I’ll eventually get a stage two air intake which will be nice.
